Opinion Zak Jones hit on Cloke

What was he thinking?

I didn't see it live, but just saw the footage and it was bloody stupid IMO.

His feet are shown to leave the ground and he chose to bump.

He's given away silly 50m penalties before and this one changed the momentum of the game after we had started so well as the Dogs had been goalless up to that point.

He's a good player, but he needs to get this out of his game.

To me he didn't actually intend to go in for the bump. He changed his mind mid jump and repositioned him self for a bump. Will still get banned regardless

Hawthorn accept Hodge walking that line and as long as it's not a regular occurrence I think we should too.

If he does the same thing but doesn't give away a free kick (better timing etc)...it could lift the team.

Fair enough, I don't have an issue with the way he plays, and I like his aggression, not saying he should change that, but I just thought he made the wrong decision there.

God I hope we wrap Jones up with a nice long contract. His costs us a couple 50s every now and then but he's borderline manic and we need someone like that.

The 50 wasn't there. Jones knew what he was doing but it shouldn't have been a 50. Cloke was milking free's like a dairy farmer

All in the timing. Being a split second late is what makes his action illegal. It is not like he ran up behind Cloke and punched him in the head.

How clear cut it any high contact...I was at the ground and whilst you could see Clokes head move it looked like he didn't contact him high,more in the chest, if he is out, lets blood another debutant....I like the way that works out.

Seriously OP? It was a fair bump. Only had a split second to react once Cloke had marked it and chose to brace. What else was he meant to do? And bonus points for putting Cloke on his arse anyway.
