I like # 1 or #2 at the Hawk, here's the writeup on the fav which puts me off;

HIGH COUNCIL has trialled twice out here - and placed in his most recent - but he has been ridden along in both and beaten. In his NZ debut (9 weeks ago) he sat 2nd in running and kicked on and only just fell in in what was very nearly a triple dead-heat. Both placegetters had one subsequent run each and were OK without winning. The crux of all that - do not go near a short price.
