That the Texans have milked a 7-7 record out of this season given that quarterback situation is a testament to O’Brien’s coaching and some of the talent he inherited from a 2-14 team a year ago.
To be fair though, if you look at the quality of QBs that their wins have come against, it's not all that surprising. All of their wins have come against QBs that were either rookies, or have since been benched.

Without Foster I would think the Texans mediocre QB's would be a lot more exposed. He has carried them offensively this year.

Yeah, but so has Alfred Blue to mostly less success compared to Foster, and the Texans have still strung together wins in those games when Foster was out completely, or hobbling and ineffective, or had few snaps......so the underlying thread must still be Watt.

Take Watt out, and the Texans would be worse off W-L.

One word- defence.

Houston are interesting because not only offensively do they have Foster but De Andre Hopkins has also got 1167 yards for 6 TDs as well as Johnson for 737 yards for 2 TDs.

But their defence as a whole has kept them in many games. In only 9 of their games have Houston's opponents scored 17 points or more while in 14 in all but 2 of their games, Houston have scored 17 or more points in a game. Watt is a huge factor in this but having a defence that does not every concede more than two TDs and a field goal every week assists them to stay in games.

Schaub was beyond terrible last season and the QBs that replaced him weren't much better. Plus Arian Foster wasn't healthy for much of last year. Couple in DeAndre Hopkins' development as a wide receiver and I think some might be overrating Bill O'Brien's body of work so far this season. IMO, much of the Texans' bounce-back can be traced to a "regression back to the mean" situation at key spots.

Here are the players the Texans drafted at the most recent draft:

Code:
Rnd Player Position
---------------------------------
  1 Jadeveon Clowney DE/OLB
  2 Xavier Su'a-Filo OG
  3 C.J. Fiedorowicz TE
  3 Louis Nix DT
  4 Tom Savage QB
  6 Jeoffrey Pagan DE
  6 Alfred Blue RB
  6 Jay Prosch FB
  7 Andre Hal CB
  7 Lonnie Ballentine FS

Clowney has been underwhelming so far and added little before ending the season injured. Louis Nix was placed on IR in September. The Texans' offence places almost no value on TEs except for their blocking ability, so Fiedorowicz hasn't done much except block. Savage hugged the bench until he came in cold against the Colts and the results were predictable. Blue has been a decent back-up running back and showed that he could mix it with the big boys when Foster sat out a few games through injury. Prosch hasn't yet had a carry and has had 1 reception (for 24 yards, admittedly). Presumably he does a lot of work blocking for Foster, though, which makes him valuable. It's never easy for a rookie CB to adjust to the higher demands of the NFL and Hal is been no exception. Ballentine was placed on IR in pre-season.

There is two darn good RBs in this draft that i would happily select in the first round.
Jay Ajayi and???????
Cant think of anyone else who are all A) A solid runner, B) A good pass blocker and C) Good in the receiving game.

Stat of the day: Aaron Rodgers has never won a game in which his team has trailed by more than one possession in the second half.
How often has that happened though? I don't think there would be that many opportunities for him to attempt a comeback down by more than one possession.

anyone reckon melvin gordon could go within top 10?
