Autopsy Rd 8 Carlton v Geelong Post Match Discussion

Yes...

This club is in real danger of being like almost every other club and having a s**t run.

You are right, but wrong.

You dismiss it as part of the cycle, inevitable, but the cycle is shortened with good admin.

THIS CLUB needs to understand it is like every other club now, the difference is the administrators and executive.

Stick fat by all mean, but realise the current board rely on your compliance to be mediocre.

Curnow - Good
Simpson - Good
Murphy - Tried hard but didn't have many mates in the midfield
Armfield - Did well on Motlop
Wood - Awesome that he showed some heart with his effort on Selwood
Wrong about the last one HBF - he was just making sure that Selwood got a legitimate head high free seeing as thought the ump had already called BUT it required no heart JUST as Yarran's efforts 4wks ago didn't. What Simmo does is heart

Oh i have lost all all good thoughts to McClure. He's as bad as McGuire in my view.

But as a member of this club, i deserve honest answers. Not the s**t he was dishing up. Don't care about Fox, address the number of members that were watching tonight.
Decisions will be made & they will be made behind closed doors, at the timing which suits the club. The supporters will be informed when a decision is made.

All that is happening at the moment is the media trying to set the agenda & the timing, & as far as I am concerned, they can go & get stuffed.

There was never going to be any major announcements from Trigg post-match. Nor was he going to participate in the speculation which is going on in the media. As a supporter, none of us should want our CEO, Board, Coach etc playing this out in the media.

This is the post match discussion thread - there must be some other thread for you to push this agenda

Spot on. If we were that short on defenders then why drop both Jaksch and Watson. We lost any chance of making this a close game at the selection table.

Hold the mail....I thought Jaksch was injured and why he wasn't playing but if he was dropped.....when Jamo and Hendo are injured? (Genuine question)

Well * me dead, no wonder we are s**t!

I don't need major announcements to be made but it would sure be nice if he didn't try and sidestep every question that was asked of him. There was literally no point to that interview.

Again, forget Fox. That's a medium for the CEO to connect with the multiple Carlton supporters/members that didnt show up tonight. He just came across as weak and dodging the elephant in the room.

Q1) Out of interest, how do people think we would have fared against the cats tonight with this lineup:

B: Buckley Jameson Rowe
HB: White Hendo Docherty
C: Yarran Murphy Simpson
HF: Everret Jones Tutt
FF: Menzel Casboult Jaksch
Foll: Wood Cripps Curnow
Int: Gibbs Bell Armfield
Sub: Judd/Smith/Byrne

Q2) What about this same line up with a bit of a run and carry strategy from kick in and Caz alternating with Jones as a stay at home forward?

Because he's an underweight, under experienced kid who isn't ready to play every game on 200cm, 100kg giants.

He is a work in progress and it makes me feel sick to see idiots bagging him out at this stage of his career.

Rough night.

Similar to last year, I ended up being the only Carlton supporter standing down our end. But then the Geelong ferals got in a brawl with security and the police and were all turfed out as well.

Think I watched all that unfold in the second half more than I did the game.
I can concur. My son and I had to put up with three idiots behind us until they were escorted from the place by Security. I must admit I poked the bear a little when I started doing my Mr Gumby "My brain hurts" impersonation. It sounded like the Monty Python sketches from many years ago. These guys just shouting stupid comments at the top of their voices. Of course this provoked a full on attack of abusive language and threats of bodily harm but it didn't concern me too much. First rule. Never worry about the people who threaten action. It's the silent ones that should concern you. While the last 40 minutes of the game were poor for our team. At least I watched it without DP Gumby and friends shouting in my ear.

It also had a teaching element. My son had never heard of Mr Gumby. We've had quite a laugh watching Mr Gumby arrange flowers etc.

Q1: 66 points loss

Q2: 72 point loss

Understand his a WiP, just feel that we could have used him tonight when we really have no other options.

And just so we are on the same page, I wasn't bagging him out.....

What's with Mick admitting that Carlton's tackling is atrocious. With a measly and lazy 35 tackles .. doesn't the Coach have any say in whether they should be tackling opposition players more often?

I don't get it. Does Mick leave it up to his players as to how much pressure they put on the opposition?

This seems very strange to me -considering Coll'd was, and still is, an effective high tackling/pressure team.

Diehards are dropping off.
What does that tell you?

The admin are, and have been for more than 15 years, s**t.
It's not a matter of weakness, it's often a matter of principle.

I question whether they are real diehards if they jump off when things get tough.

Good times, bad times - that's my definition of a real diehard.

Disgraceful. He needs to GTFO and fast!!!
Did your actually listen to why he wouldn't say? Because journos would make their own story out of what he said (as they did with his presser yesterday). he said he would never give up on the players, what more do you expect?

............look son.

Here's where we are.
We are a club that people care about, people hate and people recognise that we are vital to the comp.

If we continue to support the current admin we are at risk of becoming the Bullldogs, they don't have any of these things.

Right now, we need anger and rebellion, not compliance and support.

And what? The players suffer because fans jump off, all because the Board and administration cant sort their s**t out?

We are Carlton! We've been through worse than this!!!
