If the A league did put a team in Tassie they would be more national than the AFL. Its that simple.
But will the A-League be as national as lawn bowls and darts?

You forgot squash, badminton and indoor beach volleyball. AFL is obviously doomed. But will the A-League be as national as lawn bowls and darts?
And became a billionaire because he did change!Lets also not forget that Rupert Murdoch gave up his Australia nationality to become an American in his pursuit of the American Dollar.
Exactly. Putting money above everything. And became a billionaire because he did change!
Exactly. Putting money above everything.
You have been warned.
Here is a man who has a strong sense of history and culture. He obviously loves Melbourne , it wraps around him like a Melbourne fog on a winters day.Rather than listening to journalists who haven't a clue (Gerard Whatley excluded), I'd prefer to get the facts straight from the horses mouth. Here's Kerry Stokes on SEN today:
lol, oh Roy. First he claims the AFL just got lucky because Rupert 'gifted' us an extra HALF A BILLION DOLLARS out of spite for NRL, now the NRL deliberately took unders to maximise exposure instead of money, with the implication that the AFL has done the opposite. Conveniently forgets that the AFL forces 7 to play local team games in NSW and QLD that they likely don't want to play, and that every local team game in SA and WA are shown on FTA in that market (albeit with 12 of the 44 on a 1hr delay).
Keep spinning Roy.
Link?Something for The Wookie Is this true?
A spokesman for Foxtel said, in an email: "While many subscribers love our coverage of NRL, the truth is that over the past five years the number of NRL matches in the top 100 programs on the platform has dropped from 73 to 22, over the same period the AFL has increased from 8 to 53. In addition, the figures you have been fed significantly overstate the number of subscribers who primarily take Foxtel in order to watch the NRL."
Hide that quote from morons unlimited or there'll be tears.Something for The Wookie Is this true?

Too late. Tears are flowing. It's a "lie", apparently.Hide that quote from morons unlimited or there'll be tears.

private emails are more revealing than public onesPretty easy to cite a private email though, isn't it?
I don't think it's private, the article is saying it's from a Fox spokesman apparently after the SMH contacted themPretty easy to cite a private email though, isn't it?
How does this differ so greatly from the OzTAM statistics? Where are these numbers from?Just to note: as far as I can tell the top 100 live foxsports broadcasts this year go
NRL - 50
AFL - 37
Soccer (Asian Cup) - 7
Cricket (World Cup) - 5
Union (Bledisloe cup) - 1
Bearing in mind theres a full round in each of the AFL and NRL to come (as well as Monday night for this week), AFL finals and Brownlow, and a Rugby Union World Cup to come that will impact this list before the end of the year.
see table below

it also has to do with the broadcast deals, the AFL streams most of the games with the FTA while the NRL does not!Something for The Wookie Is this true?
