Mods on here generally do a really good job but they've definitely got a nostrils blind spot. This thread title for instance...

He's copped his fair share of whacks... the thread title in itself is tongue in cheek based upon his constant proclamations he wants Watto as if he was presenting that fact for the first time, every time.

Ralph's information is clearly fed. It's either a message to our supporters not to get their hopes up, or a desperate negotiating tactic. My guess is the former. With our relationship with the Eagles I'd be surprised if we resorted to trying to spook them via wreck it Ralph.

Once it became clear that the Eagles wanted McKercher, the entire idea became a lot less enticing. I wouldn't be shocked if that's also how we felt internally. I supported the trade on here, but we were always in a can't lose position.

I've stated before that McKercher will be the best first year player next year. If you try to list attributes that make a player transition to AFL quickly, then McKercher basically has all of them. It makes a Reid trade interesting as the other party knows that they have to deal with the immediate backlash of a McKercher rising star campaign. In the long run trading for Reid may work out, but giving up a king's ransom for Reid only for McKercher to win the rising star could get Rawlings fired before that ever eventuates.

Reid will probably be decent early, but with his tank and repeated niggles will probably produce something closer to JHF's first year, as opposed to the otherworldly years that we've seen from top picks like Walsh, Daicos, Ashcroft, and Sheezel.

All reasonable points here, but I’d be disappointed if our strategy here was based around Rawlings job security rather than overall list needs, and to paraphrase Clarko here, we are definitely in it for the long game, not the short game. And arguably Reid may be the bigger piece of a premiership puzzle than McKercher. But it is what it is I suppose

Looks like a bit of 'groin soreness' occurred over the off season. Given they weren't training hard during that period I wonder what we could put that down to?

Sounds more like an adult movie I used to have on DVD.

Mandated period of abstainance between start of November and end of January I'm guessing.

Bit worrying that CCJ still isn't right to go from a concussion after all this time

Yep, it's really showing the seriousness of concussion at the moment. Would be the biggest worry the Bombers have with McKay at the moment, he had quite a few last year.

I suspect it’s just a precaution he’s probably on a modified program, non-contact, to protect him then into full training after Christmas.
