Francis to Adelaide will surely happen.

Doubt it. Crows quite rightly only rate him as a second rounder and we see him as being only in the system for a couple of years and still being contracted for 2 more. Makes no sense to get rid of him for a rubbish pick this year

Don't have the picks.

Frankly, in a weak draft we'd be idiots to accept anything less than the equivalent of a first round pick. Sure, Francis hasn't proven himself yet. Either have both McKay's, Collins, Weideman or Schache who were all taken top 26 in the 2015 draft. Talls take time. Francis may be a dud, but he's also got a heap of potential. The rumour (on Blitz) from those in the know was that EFC prepped Francis for a potential shift just as much as he requested a trade. It was pretty "meh" on both sides, hence why Francis's own manager said last week that he doubted it would happen.

Short of Adelaide turning around and offering us the Cameron compensation, or a player like Doedee, I can't see this happening. Hopefully a big preseason and Francis can grab a position in the side next year. He should be a significant upgrade on one of Gleeson or Hartley, as long as he can get his endurance up. And that had improved a lot from the start to the end of last season. He was playing out games at a pretty good level in the VFL near the end, doing jobs either end of the ground.
