Thought Kingsley was superb in the presser. Very difficult situation. But I think he made the point well - this was a one point loss.

And when you consider the giants have so few supporters in comparison to the pies - they have such an uphill battle at the G imo. Well done GWS - sooooooo close.
Too true, had to eat my words, Giants are real and Kingsley a fine coach.

Can we also not forget that Jordan De Goey was allowed to try a fend off, got brought to ground and wasn't called HTB
The ball directly went inside 50 and they got a behind off of it.

Turned out to be a very handy behind.

It was on their terms for much of the 120. GWS had the opportunity to put Collingwood away early on in that 3rd, but their naivety stood tallest at the most crucial of stages.

The takeaway is simple: make the most of your chances, else you'll be punished when it matters. AK & the Giants experienced footy at its most callous tonight.

I look forward to hearing from Collingwood supporters for the next 12 months complain how unpaid frees got them through to the Grand Final. Or are unpaid frees only an issue when your team loses. Those high frees and trip that wasn't paid were more of a free than the Papley one from last year that we have heard about relentlessly.

Keep crying.

Tonight was not one of those times, both sides got good and bad calls and honestly the lack of free kicks made for a very exciting contest.
Ummm nah, we def got the 'rub of the green'.
We tried our guts out, at times lacked a little composure but that was mainly because of the referred manic pressure which Collingwood put on us.
Yep no doubt, let's not pretend we didn't throw the kitchen sink at your mob though
Disappointed but bloody proud,
And so you should be, will be contending for the next few years, or at least I expect so.
we don’t have a lot of support and constantly ribbed about being “plastic” etc, hopefully the efforts this year can show the footy world and people especially in Sydney this is a bloody good club and well worth supporting.
Well then, the club, you, your mates, HQ and basically everyone else are gonna have to get behind your mob and the swans to convince your fellow states people that this league and sport is worth following.

Probably harder to win over than a flag, trust me, as a Pie, that's *n nigh on impossible.

Good luck.

First of all, Great Game to GWS. Y'all fought hard and you're gonna be a team to beat for many more years yet.

Giants:

Tom Greene ~ This man is incredible to watch, a real talent. He's just an outstanding user and has great athleticism and drive. Outstanding player.

Sam Taylor ~ For patches there it felt like you guys had your own Darcy Moore. He was intercepting everything and shutting everything down, so damn good.

Toby Greene ~ I don't like him frankly.

Josh Kelly ~ Just an absolute jet. Smooth mover. Great player.

Whitfield ~ Always classy. Remember when he was drafted. Great player.

Callum M. Brown ~ This man is an utter beast. He is gonna continue to shine for you guys going forward for sure, he has heart.

That's enough kudos for now. Y'all were oustanding and you got a great mix. It terrifies me to think of what you can accomplish as you continue to get better.

Pies:

Steele ~ My man was simply everywhere, I just finished reading Dane Swans book and he even marveled at this mans ability to get to the contest and run. Outstanding showing of leadership by doing it from the front.

Nick Daicos ~ Keep working towards replacing the G.O.A.T of football and I'm happy. I could never be mad at you <3

JDG ~ 2010 (Brownlow Medalist) Dane Swan reborn.

Cox ~ That's what I wanna see my american pie. Grunt at the contest, and good awareness. Each season I'm surprised by your hunger for the big moments. <3

Mitchell ~ Our Bull standing up when we need him too. <3

Crisp ~ Great Effort fella. <3

Cameron ~ Showing us why 2 rucks can work imho. His interception and long option marking was superb.

Howe ~ Always trusty.

Enough individual praise for now. What can I say? I've been dreading this game all week and was not disappointed by the contest, it was furious. There was times i was simply wordless. The umpiring was shit for sure, but it was shit all over the place. Both teams got away with plenty, and if you asked me at half time, I would of told you that we were getting the rough end of it. Ebs and flows i suppose. So proud of the boys to hang on there. Another low scoring game makes me wander what the AFLs thoughts are on this or what they may do.

Side notes:
Credit to the Orange Army coming out to support their club, that's a tough gig.
Awesome to see the whole magpie army out there as well!
Brian Taylors commentating makes me sick, I pretty much mute every time now.
I like this trend of coaching from the bench. I feel it allows coaches to be more active in their influence.
The amount of missed holding the balls was nuts.

On to the Grand Final! Go Pies!

Giants unlucky, Kingsley outcoached us and that midfield made us look silly most of the night.

Our defence was massive and saved our bacon when the mids got flummoxed.

We won with a few contested marks and some spurts from key guts like Daics Goo and Pendles.

Some stinkers from the umps both ways, slightly favoured us in the end (especially in the second half when we had some dominant periods) which I guess comes down to the crowd. Everyone there was talking about how pumped the crowd were, and it seemed to feed onto the pitch.

Imagine e they make a GF and lose cause the umps are cowed by a Vic sides crowd? That's the real #VICBIAS, the MCG lock. Gotta fix that.

Giants have a balanced list and such great kids. I think they have years of finals ahead, imagine if they had another ruck or just one more gun defender. FMD they are coming.
Laughable - we won Clearances 44-26!!!
