Mate i work at the hospital i mentioned in my post above. Im giving an insight into whats happening. I watched my ex struggle to get employment as a nurse after graduating here during the outbreak of the pandemic, simply because she was born in Nepal. If you're going to ask a condescending sarcastic question you can cram it.

I'm not sure what your saying rowie343, but if its that the photo of the iron lungs is a fear tactic, you better bloody bet your bottom dollar they are, because that's what happens, I was a child in the fifties , I can remember the polio I can remember the terrified parents , the schools closing, people going off to the bush to get away. Kids and adults who copped polio had a hard time if they survived, as Power Raid said of his Dad some survivors suffered a hard life after, I had a mate from school in leg irons to get about after his time with this hideous disease.
So when people don't vaccinate and take that miniscule risk of a side effect of the needle, and too many people don't vaccinate, then you will see what that photo shows is absolutely real.
Then you can add a few other diseases we've managed to get under control, there are things still out there that we have immunised ourselves against , that can still wipe out a huge amount of humanity, we need vigilance forever, because if stupidity takes over , you won't need ISIS to kill you, some horror of molecular size will do that to millions of people won't need bombs or guns.

Especially as we travel all over this planet these days. It's a nightmare waiting to happen , so anti vacs , grow a brain!

you're right fear is a powerful tool and is the motivating tool for a % of the population. This just happens to be the saddest part of society and human behaviour which is linked to ignorance and insecurity.

You could reverse the argument and say please continue to vaccinate and enjoy the quality of life enjoyed by the developed world. but unfortunately the % of the people are motivated by fear, rather than success, simply won't listen. Thus you use a two pronged approach to ensure the issue resonates broadly.


you only have to go to third world countries to appreciate the fear is real with solid foundations.you only have to return to Australia to appreciate the success.

Most vaccines primarily contain a small portion of a virus, importantly it does not contain the parts of the virus which allows it to replicate in some situations the virus its is already dead. also at an increasing rate we are developing fully synthetic vaccines which as its name implies is a synthetic substitute for the virus. it contains a few other chemicals within the product to assist with preservation of the vaccine and delivery of the agent into the bloodstream.

the way vaccines work is quite simple when your white blood cells detect a foreign agent within the bloodstream they develop an antibody for it this antibody essentially binds itself to the pathogen isolating it so that it cannot infect health cells or replicate. additionally antibodies when active send out a chemical signature which allows other parts of the immune system namely certain types of white blood cells which introduce enzymes which break down DNA into the isolated agent essentially reducing it to its base parts.

Now importantly you need to understand many of the most of the nasty viruses replicate faster then the immune system can produce new antibodies. this overwhelms the immune system faster then it can react.

the point of a vaccine is to introduce the virus or a synthetic substitute into your body so that the immune system can start producing specific antibodies to target this organism. because the body keeps producing a certain amount of each and every type of antibody it ever producers this gives the immune system a head start in combating the virus as theres no delay between detection and antibodies sent to attack the foreign body.

That sounds great. Ive been to some in house education things at the RHH as an interested layman. Their is a lot of research into this & other medical fields. Australia certainly carries its weight in medical research.

I forgot to mention the anticipated cost to the consumer for the flu was $6 and $12 for aids

if achievable, not only is there the benefit of a cure but affordable for developing nations

Nothing wrong with farmers markets but they are probably full of hippies that think eating organic and meditating will be serve them better than a quick jab with a vaccine.
