Last year, Demon had a pretty lean patch between winning Acapulco and the grass-court season:

R2 Indian Wells
R2 Miami
R2 Monte Carlo
QF Barcelona
R3 Madrid
R2 Rome
R2 French Open

As a more confident top 10 player, he can easily continue his rise in the rankings even with just slightly better than last year's results.

Congrats to Demon for defending an ATP final for the first time in his career.

Aussie men winning tournaments in two consecutive weeks doesn't happen very often these days (unlike the 50s, 60s and even 70s). Last time was a couple of years ago when Demon/Kyrgios did it in the States.

We don't have grand slam level players coming through but you would have to say that they are getting the most out of the ability they have.

ADM 9
Thompson 33
Popyrin 41
O'Connell 66
Vukic 69
Purcell 71
Hijikata 78

Popyrin could probably get up to about 20ish maybe in the future but the rest of those guys are absolutely red lining for the ability they have.

Which is fair enough.
Sometimes players just in the tour to get as far as they can, as much money as possible. Different goals for different people.

Got a thread up for IW :)

ATP/WTA - Masters 1000 Indian Wells

Not that tough if you win 63 60 on your worst surface and maintain your position as ATP player with most wins in singles matches this year ;)

Vukic up 3-0 in the third I think it was.
Monfils turned it up and used the crowd to his advantage. 7-5 in the end to Gael. Talented player. Pity he just couldn’t sustain it throughout his career

Tsitsipas up 5-4, on serve, against Sinner 3rd set. Sinner looks cooked, trainer out. This to me is Sinner’s only real weakness, his conditioning. Here and IW he’s faded in the third set.

I bet there is a weird olympic gold winner again this year. Djokovic, Sinner, Alcaraz are all going to be ground into dust by the time they get there.
The men's side of tennis in the Olympics does not really throw up strange results like the women's. The past four winners of Olympic mens singles gold are zverev, Murray, Murray, Nadal.

As I mentioned there are signs of decline in Djokovic and there has been since late last year. But will reserve final judgement until after the RG, Wimbledon, Olympics swing.

Tsitsipas got fortunate in the 3rd set and really should have been down 5-1 after he served a double fault on break point down, but the umpire didn't call it. Sinner struggled a little physically after that, but it was a good match to watch. Also good to see him get some form back on his preferred surface and fingers crossed he has a good clay season.

Would be awesome for ruud to win a big title, he's come close in slams and masters, but has not managed to win one yet. Hopefully a high quality match and not stressed about who wins.

Will Rafa play Barcelona this week? He is listed in the draw and will play de minaur in the second round.
