Have the Gades run any twos tonight? You’d have to think that was how to get the innings ticking along once the spinners proved hard to hit to the fence.

Need a boundary from the last ball to get to the ton…..miss and a single.

97? Pathetic.

Stars will chase this in ten overs max.

If the Stars find a way to lose this match, I'll go back to calling them Spuds. Stoinis and Maxwell should open as the Stars need a NRR boost.

The Stars really aren't that bad. Pretty strong batting line-up and not the worst bowling attack getting around (still not great, but serviceable enough). This could very well be the season they finally win a title if they catch the Scorchers or Heat on an off night.

Jason Richardson or one of the Comms on Channel 7 talk about the Melbourne Stars chasing this to improve net run rate.

But even if they Stars chase this target in 1 over, their Net Run rate will be -0.328. It would still be below Hobarts Net Run rate of -0.235. The Sixers Net run rate is +0.167.

They still need to improve it.

I dont see the need for the Stars to go hung ho and chase this inside 5 overs or whatever. They are already way down on NRR. In a shortened season it will be hard to make back that NRR too.

Just need to concentrate on the W tonight. It could mean it might be a bit of an ugly Stars chase.
