Pick 48 - Angus Hastie
Pick 48 - Brisbane - Angus Hastie (Geelong)

Covering both ends as per briztoon request. 😉 composed player out of defence and think he’s value around this range. Full profile to come.

Davo-27 up again.

Pick 49 - Billy Wilson
Pick 49 - Hawthorn - Billy Wilson - Dandenong 182cm

Hawthorn recruiters love a quick player and i think he has been great this year off half back and on a wing, an outside quick run with player with good skills, one of the best players in the 1st month of the CTL, i also liked what he produced last year in a couple of u17 rep games, i think he would do well at the combine, but even so its what he produces on field that matters most and he can be electric at times.

TDS7 you're up

Pick 50 - Xavier Walsh
Pick 50 - St. Kilda - Xavier Walsh (WA) - 195cm 91kg - Tall Utility

Walsh has had a tough run at it this season, but from the little I've seen of him Walsh is a good spec pick to shore up their tall stocks. A no-nonsense, well built forward who competes well in the air and throws his weight around the forwardline, he's someone who could plug any holes the Saints seem to keep finding in their key tall and back stocks. Speaking of the backline, I'd be really interested to see if his strength and attack on the footy translate to defense. Plenty of upside as well, you never really know what the future holds for tall prospects but he's as good a shot as any to make it.

Monocle

Poised decision maker out of defence that had excellent foot skill to hit targets.
His left foot is a weapon and whilst he isn't blessed with burst speed, he has enough pace to compliment his head speed, to see him be a very effective player.

Has high footy IQ and is a quality rebounding defender who's ability to read the play is a point of difference and assists his intercepting marking ability.

With the new game style of attacking defenders, setting up forward play with rebound, overlap and switching play, decision making and the ability to hit targets has become crucial.

After having taken a good feed of mids with my previous picks, I now take a defender with some class to his game.

When I first spotted him he was in the 189 cm / 190 cm "ish" range ... and I thought he was a great third tall type, he has now grown and is 195 .... not sure just where he plays with this added height and good wing span, but I suspect its still as the third tall as his intercepting marking ability will create some options for the coaches, trusted to develop him and maximise his talent. Should he grow some more then he becomes even more an attractive pick.

Some may say he is too similar to Basso, why duplicate ? but I am happy to take a left footed version, as I rate him as great value here with a late pick.

Draft Order;

Let's get it brrrr
Classic - love it!

I’m probably one that still holds hope in Full cream Milk ( Fullarton)
Fullerton is best suited as cover for Hipwood or Daniher.

Sam Van Rooyen is more a third tall height and could potentially play a similar role to Jack Gunston.

And I'd sooner draft the best available key forward with our first pick, then a tall defender later.

I don't see the need for any smaller players this year (not from the draft any way).

Would love to know what’s going on with him, was tracking beautifully as an under ager last year but hadn’t featured for Tas at all this year.
He’s been playing TSL this year so hasn’t been selected for the Devils.

Pick 53 - Lance Collard
Pick 53 - North Melbourne - Lance Collard - Subiaco - 185cm & 68kg

If you are looking for X-factor Collard has it in spades. He has speed, agility and a whole bag of tricks when playing close to goal.

He is capable of rolling through the midfield, playing on a wing or playing a crumbing small forward. He is a nice kick of the footy and has really good vision that allows him to create scoring opportunities when kicking the ball inside 50.

Around goals, he can kick them from anywhere. Snaps, set shots and goals on the run all come very natural. He creates separation with good agility and a quick first few steps. While many opportunistic forwards tend to play a bit of a selfish game, Collard often brings his teammates into it with unselfish play.

While I really like him as a small forward, I project he has scope to play as a really damaging wingman due to his ability to run and carry and distribute inside 50. North are short on both creative wingers and goal kicking threats so Collard fits the bill for both. He’ll be a bit of a project players, but there is more than enough talent to work with.

Pick 54 - Riley Weatherill
Pick 54 - North Melbourne - Riley Weatherill - Eastern Ranges - 195cm & 88kg

A talk forward prospect who does the basics right. He is a nice mark and a has a neat set shot goal which is important for a key forward. At this stage he is a bit one dimensional, in the fact that he is very much a lead-mark-kick tall forward, but he does it consistently well, which is why he’ll be on many clubs radar later on in the draft.

With his frame, he has scope to be quite a solid lad which is also a positive. At this stage his contested marking and production needs improvement, but he has a decent athletic profile that will hold him in good stead in the big leagues.

Monocle your turn again mate.

Pick 55 - Joe Pike
Pick # 55. West Coast. Joe Pike. 203 cm 103 kg, Ruckman, Geelong Falcons.

Big strong, raw a they come kid, with so much still to to learn about ruck craft.

It's a real area of need ( while we took Barnett last year, I think he may well end up back where he started his junior football as a CHB) , NN is cooked well and truely, while the Club won't come out and say it .... I will ..... he can no longer run off straight lines and that a serious concern.
A pragmatic mind set would have him call stumps on his career as a player and concentrate on coaching ruck craft, which by all accounts he does well.
Thats a pretty nice situation for Pike to walk into, having a great mentor and coach to help him refine his craft.

He is going to take some time and that time line will be somewhere in the region of three to five seasons, it's my last pick I am happy to roll the dice and see what he can evolve into, by way of an AFL footballer.

Like I said he is so raw, but has also flashed enough for me to see something there that is worth investing in.

Are there none coming through our Academy would expect Richards and Arnold late draft as defenders also I’m hopeful of Lohmann coming on to replace Gunners
