No, it's not all I do at all. Everyone has a whinge about something, it's called human nature.

You might not even be in the final if you actually had a fixture like we've had during this cup so consider yourself lucky.
Well seeing as we've already beaten everyone you've played, other than Sydney because we haven't played them, I'd say we would be. Not sure about Adelaide however, as they drew with Melbourne. Not sure how they would fare with travelling across the country every week either. If anyone can consider themselves lucky to be in the final, it's Adelaide.

Could not disagree more since we've played A-League opposition each week in the cup. Perth have been traveling all over the country since they had a football team in Australia. How much longer will they use it as an excuse?

It isn't an excuse, we're on top of the league and in the FFA Cup final.

And the only team thats beaten you will be waiting for you in said final.

Isnt it great, Perth win a few games for the first time in a while and suddenly they have more than 4 people post on this board

We've had our club thread running for ages with out chatter.
What a surprise a souf australyann is ignorant.

Reds win a few games and your thumping your chest.

love you long time xxx

Agreed it should be a stand alone game on a weekend. Make it a big event, if we squeeze it in mid week it loses its appeal. Out of interest who do both sides play the week prior, more importantly where.

The Cup final played on a Tuesday night is an abomination. So much for it being a show-piece of the league. the fact one side has been awarded a home ground advantage in a professional knock-out cup competition is absurd as it is amateur. Wake up FFA.
A neutral venue? Where do you suggest?

If you play it anywhere other than Adelaide or Perth, no one will go.

purchased 4 today myself.
if 7,000 have been sold so far on first day of release (and only to members) - expect good numbers from non-members - despite the time (Tuesday night) the game is getting close to Christmas, some people might already be on leave, it's a final and this will be heavily promoted over here.
will go close to selling out imo but just fall short of doing so.

They should choose the venue like they do for the European CL, a random venue before the season begins.

The current system is a bit dodgy, as is the AFL one where its always in Melbourne.
yep, gosford would be rocking for this game. imagine the turnout! 100 travelling Adelaide fans, 100 travelling perth fans and 100-200 locals!
atmosphere would be insane!

Problem is right now no one outside of the 'home city' would really have a vested interest in the game. Itll be a full house at Hindmarsh, if the game was in Sydney or Melbourne you wouldn't get that.

Maybe years down the track but not now.

The UEFA CL is also a bad comparison, because it's an international competition featuring clubs who number their worldwide supporters - many of whom would take an overseas holiday to see this game - in the millions.

The better comparison is the FA Cup, the final for that is played at a neutral venue every year - Wembley. The big difference though is that, despite how much they complain about it, it's a hell of a lot easier for a supporter from anywhere in England to get to Wembley than it is for supporters here to get to Stadium Australia. On top of that, even when a non-PL team reaches the final, they have a lot more willing supporters than an A-League side, and the neutral interest is far greater.
