It's grade cricket.
Pointless to play in a stadium that big
Just like Sheffield Shield.

Didn't see No. 1 Sportsground in Newcastle on the list. It hosted a Shield match last summer.
Only Bellerive would meet the FC criteria I reckon, due mainly to practice facilities. Although the others you mention could probably still host ListA games. From what you say, perhaps KG5 could host FC games as well. York Park definitely cannot. And with the criteria that apply now its hard to see a bike track around the outside being allowed by CA (Devonport Oval and West Park). So Tassie has BRO, Aurora, KGV, Kingston, Devonport & Burnie that could handle 1st class cricket without much trouble IMO.

"But now, the distance between the wicket and boundary rope ranges between 60m and 79m.
The ICC’s match conditions state that the shorter of the two square boundaries needs to be a minimum of 59.43m from the edge of the pitch to the boundary."
"An ICC accreditation inspection is set to take place next month, most likely coinciding with the two cricket matches staged at the venue so that the venue can be viewed in authentic conditions.
The inspection looks at all aspects of the stadium from lighting, broadcast facilities and ground dimensions.
The stage-four redevelopment of the stadium includes a modernised media setup, three-times the size of the outdated facility in the recently demolished Brownlow Stand."
Would certainly look interesting on the screen...
Absolutely. The FC standards being talked about are CA standards, not ICC ones. There are probably Test match venues in some countries that would not meet CA's FC standards.Could it be ICC approved for Twenty20 and still not First Class standard? The article doesn't say anything about the practice wicket area which from recollection did not meet the requirements for a First Class facility.
How about that stadium in Ballarat?
Ballarat are planning an upgrade of another venue in town to bring it up to FC standard
Anything the brings more games to regional areas is a good thing. Especially considering how many players come from the country
Eastern Oval is a chance but subject to funding- Northern Oval will be footy onlyBallarat are planning an upgrade of another venue in town to bring it up to FC standard
Those 60 meter boundaries would still be bigger than most of those Indian groundshttp://www.geelongadvertiser.com.au...de1a69b8ee3c29110310b62ff#load-story-comments

If they can do for $15m they are doing well. Mind you stage one at York Park was only $20m, its had about $60m spent now.http://m.westernbulldogs.com.au/news/2015-11-20/eureka-stadium-plans-unveiled
That's the latest.
By those plans that's what $15 million gets you.
The company that won the tender must be a non union
I can't see any cricket being played at Eureka Stadium (Northern Oval) once this goes through. Eastern Oval is a chance but would need an upgrade as well and I'm not sure there is that much cash about. If they can do for $15m they are doing well. Mind you stage one at York Park was only $20m, its had about $60m spent now.
I'm glad to see someone finally go with a clear (guessing more translucent) roof for footy. It makes perfect sense to get natural lighting through the stand, especially in a single tier stand.
If used for cricket, they might need to roll out some shadecloth over the top or something to stop spectators from baking.
Eureka is home to North Ballarat Roosters & North Ballarat Rebels VFL & TAC teams - they require virtually 12 month access - makes cricket irrelevant. Is Eureka Stadium used for cricket games now?
Given government is forking out cash for 2 games a year in Ballarat they might actually want some cricket there as well

so if the venue is ICC accredited, I guess this is different from being fit for use as a First Class standard ground?
I would think Geelong would have better luck getting an ODI than a T20
