Formula 1 in 2015

Well this year for example Renault and Ferrari haven't been able to do anything to their engines to try and catch Mercedes. So it's been a bit predictable in that sense.
The main problem is that the last few years RB's advantage was aero, which all the teams (including them) could develop over the year. At least there was a theoretical possibility of the other teams catching up.

This year the area Mercedes have their advantage in is frozen. Pretty well locking it in for the season.

Williams are dumb.

Williams and their strange relationship with drivers.... between 1986 and 1997, they won 7 Constructors and 5 Drivers titles but never saw a number 1 on any of those red/blue/yellow/white cars.
Don't understand why Massa still has a F1 career. End of 2002 should have been the last we heard of him. He must thank his lucky stars every day his manager is Jean Todt's son.

He was a few corners away from being a World Champion.

That was a long time ago in a season full of FIA interference that favoured Massa and was against his rival Hamilton. Still can't believe some of those decisions that year. Hamilton getting penalised for going off the first corner of one race and Bourdais getting a drive through when Massa turned into him. Irvine was almost a champion too but no one cared after 12 months.

Edit: I'll also add in 2002 Massa could barely keep the car in a straight line and was utterly woeful in the rain. When he did return he was shaded by Fischella in 2004 and almost got beaten in points by a washed-up Jacques Villeneuve in 2005, yet somehow he did enough to earn a seat in one of the most prized teams in motorsport... managed by the father of Massa's agent.

Jacques would have worn the 1 in 98?

Old news (a week ago) but, Lotus have confirmed they are switching to Mercedes power for 2015. With McLaren moving to Honda there was a spare team for Mercedes to support and Lotus have got the gig.

This leaves only three Renault powered teams (Red Bull, Toro Ross, and Caterham) for 2015, and that may be down to two if Caterham don't make it to next year.

I thought toro rosso had Ferrari engines???????
up to 2013 - changed to Renault this year - this year they are using the Renault engine and Red Bull gear box internals. Next year they are using Renault engine and full Red Bull gear box and rear suspension as an integrated unit.

Just spitballing. Imagine these lineups next year:

Mercedes: Hamilton/Rosberg
RBR: Ricciardo/Kvyat
Ferrari: Vettel/Raikkonen
McLaren: Alonso/Button
Lotus: Magnussen/Grosjean

There's 5 top teams with 8 top line drivers and 2 potential (Magnussen, Kvyat). Would love to see it.

The big question is where does Alonso go. I've read that Alonso could go to Williams as a stop gap whilst McLaren develop their car in 2015 and I'd love to see that:D because Alonso/Bottas could challenge Mercedes for the title IMO. The question then becomes which driver is tied to which engine. Would Magnussen stay with McLaren or would Mercedes want Magnussen in a Mercedes engine car.

How about?

Mercedes: Hamilton/Rosberg
Williams: Alonso/Bottas
Lotus: Massa/Grosjean
RBR: Ricciardo/Kvyat
Ferrari: Vettel/Raikkonen
McLaren: Magnussen/Button
