Gillard's AWU/Wilson past about to haunt her?

You don't remember Comical Ali? His hysterical rants remind me greatly of Maggie's. Totally devoid of any connection to reality, although in fairness at least he was amusing.

They voted through a heap of stuff. The ALP didn't have control of the senate. A few things like ID cards were blocked but most of the economic stuff was passed. Keating's consumption tax was blocked by the unions not the Libs.

The mining tax was a MASSIVE stuff up. Huge compliance costs and raised virtually no money.

Ditto Carbon Tax. It didn't CUT Australia's emissions. Blatant fabrication. It was only ever about raising revenue.

Gough you have a point and I think people forget how bad he was. Pink Batts, school halls, Ruddbank, cheques to MacBank, Green car etc etc were IIRC all under his watch.
Does it make you feel superior playing the person? Very disrespectful.
Keep reading Rupe. Pays well does he?

Well your mate Julia may have plenty of time in the near future to read Rupert. May even get to make some number plates to.
See I don't mind this post, disagree but don't get personal.
No chance in the world she will face anything but don't let that stop you from hoping.

She's currently being investigated by a royal commission into corruption.

Unless you share the view of some barrackers here that the Royal Commission is just a Murdoch invention, she could well face criminal justice as a result.

John Howard and the liberal party should be investigated , they were mention in this witch hunt supporting the unions a few days ago

as i stated previously , this Abbott witch hunt is likely to turn out similar to the Howard government failed royal commission into unions

at the end of the day it was not labor or a union official who is called out

But an senior liberal party official

Investigated for what?

Gillard hasn't just been mentioned, there is a specific allegation against her.

That is not Abbott's fault, Murdoch's fault, or Howard's fault, or anyone's fault but Gillard's herself.

There has been no real evidence proven against Gillard

If this was a real royal commission not a witch hunt

Abbott would be called up as a witness , Abbott in parliament claimed the newsltd/abbott coalition had the smoking gun , when Gillard challenge him he coward out

Who cares which side of politics is nailed. We need to focus on reducing corruption and catching those who participate in illegal activity.

Or do you only barrack?

For that to happen there needs to be a true royal commission which investigates every thing and has no limits unlike this witch hunt

Royal Commissions will always have limits.
Yes but unlike this one where the object is to get a certain group or persons

The royal commission could look into those who make accusations like the pro coalition media and Abbott , etc

The Royal Commission into child abuse in institutions also can be seen to be an attack on the Catholic Church under your logic. Fact for most is that there are issues in that 'witch hunt' needed too.

The royal commission into child abuse is just not investigating catholic churches , any child abuse claim is being looked at

Poller = Obvious ALP/Union plant

Meh the AWU reform group fiasco is at best very low levels of criminality relative to some of the building industry payola s**t that goes on - the witch hunt theory is given weight by the fact that the Commission chose to go there first

Well aware of the RC but can you provide evidence that they are investigating her? Nah, not old Rupe this time.
Hopefully though the RC does it's job and exposes corrupt unions and employers.

What is the specific allegation and who made it?

The allegation is that Gillard, in her previous occupation as a lawyer for Slater and Gordon, helped the AWU to set up an illegal slush fund which high-ranking AWU members used for personal purposes. In essence, she aided and abetted union brass in stealing from the union members.

The allegation comes from former union members.

This is not a recent thing. These allegations have been around for years before she ever became prime minister, which is why blaming the Liberals is ridiculous.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AWU_affair

Ian Cambridge, the former AWU national secretary and current Fair Work Australia commissioner, who detected the alleged misuse of funds in the 1990s, called for a judicial inquiry into the affair.

Abbott and co have the smoking gun they claimed , why aren't they being called ?

So if Gillard is not charged or fronts the royal commission the liberal party is rightly to blame for Gillard getting off Scott free

Since they have this so-called smoking gun against Gillard which they refuse to show

Where has Abbott claimed to have a smoking gun?
Abbott was calling Gillard to resign , and in parliament he still maintained the liberal party was given the smoking gun evidence from the members of the pro coalition media

Gillard suspended standing orders for Abbott to produce this smoking gun, and she would resign

Abbott cowarded out
