Serious question and probably a stupid one. Have done the family thing and now I'm bored.

Anything open? Or do I have to drive back to Melb for a night out.

My house is open if you want to come watch TV with me.

Apart from that, no, nothing is opened to my knowledge.

I wonder if Marble Bar is open tonight? If so, I might head down later tonight..

It was a public holiday, and SA doesnt allow shops over 150sqm to open on Public holidays.

You could have gone to Jetty Rd or HabourTown.

All the things that were open were in the paper today/yesterday if you bothered to look

I didn't think it would be open. I doubt even Crown in Melb was... although it was going nuts on Good Friday last year.

There must be something happening.

Actually went into the city centre today. It seems like a dying town that stinks of desperation which is a shame as some areas are aesthetically pleasing like near the river and the oval.

You can sense the fail everywhere but it's strongest around the casino. Wandered in for a cheap beer but found that pubs are pretty much the same price so it was for nothing. It's not really a casino anyway, more a giant pokie venue with a couple of theme bars.

Went to one of the local suburban pubs for lunch and it was actually nice and decent feed but you can see what funds the renovations. Having these shining beacons in the middle of the decaying suburbs is like putting mags on a 1970 corolla that hasn't had a new motor or paint job since new.

Based on the patronage at the pub and casino, it's easy to see why pensioners are screaming for more money. Your tax dollars at work.

I even saw a formerly famous footballer at it. Sad.

You live in Geelong?

And its quite funny isnt it, SA has the highest taxable rate on Pokies income so the money just goes round in circles.

Would hardly call Adelaide a dying town either as its actually the 2nd fastest growing city in terms of development.
