I've tried everything believe me, but they're more interested in music, animals and other avenues. Besides that, I don't believe in pushing kids into something they simply don't enjoy, as much as I'd love them to share that interest.
s**t parent.

"I love footy and I love geelong. Any hold who also loves these two things clearly loves daddy more. If you don't....that makes angels die and it makes daddy cry"

You're welcome. ;)

"Add another $100k S.Hocking"

It's difficult to know what our TPP framework is based on - years of experience, some measurable KPIs, etc - but the good form he is displaying now is going to test the system one way or another.

"Add another $100k S.Hocking"

We're probably going to have to. I generally give weight to what Whateley says when it comes to the Cats as he is well connected. In a brief exchange with McClure after the game McClure -deservedly - pumped-up Mots tyres and finished with something like 'and you're going to let this bloke go are you'? Whateley said we don't want to but the 5 year deal at $3.5m that's on the table from elsewhere - didn't nominate a club - could be the decider.

We've put a lot of development years into Mots and I'd hate to see another club benefit from it. Along with Blitz, it's the most pressing player contract matter before us. Including those speculated on from outside the club.

sounds like another sausage muncher deal, doesn't it?
Guess it'll test Motlop's mettle. Will he make the sacrifice? Will he remain loyal to the hoops?

Can't imagine Selwood and Bartel would not have knocked back big deals a few years ago to stay at our club and be one-club players. Having said that, though, Bartel was a bit older than Mots and possibly more settled and Selwood had the captaincy. It's tough for young blokes, though- they have to think of their future. They're not always going to be in the game, are they?

Mots, however, also has to weigh up things like how the club has stood by him through his injuries in the first few years. And some fairly ordinary form at times.

Lets not make excuses for him TCat. If Mots leaves it will be for the money and it would be very disappointing. It doesn't matter how old you are or whether you're the Captain or not, if he left he would be leaving for greed and nothing else. Perhaps he should think about the fact that the club decided to send him to the best tendon specialist in the world not long ago in order to help him recover from his knee tendonitis or the fact that they allowed him to play in the international rules series against their own better judgement.

Every player from our great era would have been offered more money from elsewhere at one stage or another but the majority decided to stay. Perhaps he should ask them whether they regret it or not. I could take a wild guess as to what the resounding answer would be.

If Mots does decide to leave, people are fools if they choose to blame anyone else but the man himself. He will have left for greed and chosen money over much more worthy commodities such as loyalty, mateship and integrity.

Want to keep him. $550-600k a year for say 4-5 yr deal 'feels right', but that would be the most.

Motlop is the icing that makes the cake look and taste better, but it assumes you have a good base in the first place. At this point, we have a big donut with a gaping hole in the middle (lacking a strong ruck and clearance players) so the dollars must be directed to fixing that first, and hence the priorities of Danger and (a cheaper) Selwood. Buggered if I know where the ruck will come from.... Leuey ain't the answer.

So hopefully Mots appreciates the 'value' in staying more than the 'dollars' in going. Time will tell.

Yeah, perhaps a talk with the boys wouldn't go astray.

Collingwood are going big. Upped their offer because Motlop indicated he'd like to remain at Geelong.

Although he has indicated hes working on a deal with the club if he wants to go then we should control where he goes and get the best deal
