Autopsy Patrick Dangerfield approached to join the AFL Commission

When it is one like Jacob Hoppers the others night, it was overzealous officials reacting to the Port Adelaide fine that could rob a player of his chance to win something he has set as his life’s challenge. There is a certain risk involved in football.
And there is a duty of care. Players are ending up with brain damage because they are being allowed to go back out and play. If you are one of the "they choose to play" idiots", don't bother replying,

Clear conflict of interest- Tick
Relentless self-promoter- Tick
Gil’s mate- Tick
A shoe in for the AFL Commission
Gil & Danger can tell each other how awesome they are...

Danger needs some sort of business interest that can get AFL deals though, not sure he has that yet. Otherwise why be on the commission?
Surely there are plenty of better credentialed recently retired players who could do this role.

Doesn't he have a gig on ch7 with special comments sometimes? Just what we need, someone from the broadcaster on the commission.

Put him on the MRO while we're at it
Actually I would prefer Danger than Christian... but that's another story.

Have no issue with him commenting on games.

Not for what did or did not happen to Hopper and you want someone to miss a GF for a panicked over correction.

Sounds like this may have been going on in the background for some time if other clubs have already got wind of it and can’t believe it.

“I gather that conversations are being had about conflicts and how they would be managed and that the AFL is determined to get a current voice of a player on the Commission.

“Already a couple of clubs have contacted me and told me they just can‘t believe the story to be true. I’ve been assured that it is.”

Absolutely no reason to get a current player on the Commission. Surely there is a number of recently retired players that would be more than reasonable and a voice for players.

“There are a lot of other names they‘re looking at, people ranging from Ted Richards, to Chris Judd, to Matthew Pavlich, even Matt de Boer who’s had a pretty impressive post-footy career.”

Surely any of them are more logical selections, so we can assume they won’t go for any of them either.

Obviously it’s a fantastic idea, but does it do enough?
I’d add Tom Hawkins to the rules committee and have Gryan Miers run the MRP

Dangerfield to join the AFL commission

Tom Harley the new AFL CEO

Steve Hocking to return as the General Manager of footy operations

Chris Scott can be chairman of the rules committee

Selwood to become head of umpiring

Lingy and Jimmy Bartel to run the ARC

Gerard Whateley to devise the fixtures and tv scheduling

Mooney can split his time between boundary riding and giving red cards to concussed players

Hawkins and Stevie J can be the goal umpires at GMHBA Stadium

Phat Boy and STP to be chairman and vice chairman of the All Australian selection committee

Catman can be the MRO

Bobby Davis and Maxy Rooke to be inducted as the next AFL Legends

Terrible idea. He has already shown that he can't represent his own constituency by snitching on a fellow player (and therefore a member of his union) to the media. When do you see CFMEU or other unions publicising articles to A Current Affair about how one of their members is a poor employee and in need of sanction?

Maybe they should look at Bachar Houli. Recently retired, thoughtful, well spoken, admired. Adds diversity.

Oh, that’s right…

Who’d Danger snitch on?
