Who know what olinda with front with heard a lot of excuses from top if hill regarding injuries to seniors said to be double figures.

Mt ev might have there tail up after the w.e with a good win. Upwey got abit of a touch up against a crisp wandin unit.
MT EVELYN by 4 points

Woori should have won on the we. After takin the lead One bloke kicked the footy the wrong way with a minute to go to be marked and goal by monbulk was the difference. Mon did get a cheap one out the back of goal square to make it a 9 point win. Ward will take the 4 points thou
After watching the hville tape they looked abit sloppy skill wise possibly the night game had a part to play. WOORI by 24 points

Yarra glen will go into this week with strong belief they can win
Warbys season on the line. Can't see Mt Ev being the worst side in div 1

Belgrave v Monbulk - should be a top game, Monbulk by a kick
Olinda-Ferny Creek v Wandin - by 30 points
Upwey-Tecoma v Mount Evelyn - by 14 points
Woori Yallock v Healesville - another great game. Woori's skill vs Healesville's strength. Home side by 3 points.
Yarra Glen v Warburton-Millgrove - rainbow striped river pigs are looking better now. They served it up to Healesville last week...for a quarter.

Alexandra v Gembrook-Cockatoo - by 7 points
Emerald v Thornton-Eildon - by 28 points
Kinglake v Powelltown - by 32 points
Yarra Junction v Seville - by 16 points
Yea bye - Yea beat Seville last week for the first time since 1977. One of the most unlikely results I can remember. Does it say more about Yea or Seville?

Just a question for the forum. I saw a game over the weekend where at a stoppage in front of goal the defending team had a player jump up at the ruck contest and knock the ball through the points on the full. It seemed unusual at the time as I haven't seen it done for a while. Is it against the rules now to do that or is it a lost art? It wasn't given a free at the time. Maybe Man In White you can help me

Our hierarchy prefers us not to make specific comments on incidents that happen in the games but I can provide the following from the rule-book (not sure if it fully describes the situation that you saw).

15.7 FREE KICK – DELIBERATE RUSHED BEHIND

15.7.1 When Awarded

A Free Kick shall be awarded against a Player

from the defending Team who intentionally Kicks,

Handballs or forces the football over the attacking

Team’s Goal Line or Behind Line or onto one of the

attacking Team’s Goal Posts. In assessing whether

a Free Kick should be awarded under this Law, the

field Umpire shall give the benefit of the doubt to the

Defender.

This is often called "The AFL Rule" though because the VCFL rulebook also has the following clauses at the very start of the rules section - one of which states:

NOTE: AFL Victoria Country has been granted exemptions to AFL Rules. Please make note of the

following references:

Rule 15.7 Free Kicks - Deliberate Rushed Behind

- Not applicable to WorkSafe AFL Victoria Country Matches.

Can a ruck man punch it through the goals on the full or the boundary line on the full?

Good question Adam H. So are you saying Man In White that you can deliberately rush the ball for a behind without a free kick being awarded? Without commenting on any specific incidents, if you were in charge of a game and saw 1. A player deliberately rush the ball through for a point 2. A ruckman punch the ball through the goals on the full from a stoppage OR 3. A ruckman knock the ball over the boundary on the full, would you pay a free kick?

Pretty simple question really. Ball up in the goal square can a ruckman punch it through on the full? In the AFL you 100% cannot.

As the rules stand (and indicated above), in the YV a ruckmen can punch the ball over the scoreline and a behind results. If the ruckman punched it over the boundary line, it's considered deliberate OOB and a free kick.

At AFL level, both instances would result in a free kick.

For Backhoe, examples 1 & 2 would be behinds and example 3 a free kick.

Broken Bone said he hasn't seen a ruck punch over the scoreline for a while. My personal thought is that most players are aware that the AFL has a slightly different application to all the other leagues. Issue is, most probably are not 100% certain which way it falls and as such, take the low risk option and keep the ball in play. I suspect that in recent years the EFL may have also followed the AFL interpretation which adds to a bit of confusion with so many players crossing between the 2 leagues each summer.

The reason ruck man dont hit it over as it does get paid as a free by a few umpires there in sits the issue.
