Dew today on SEN when Miller will be back:
Out of brace yesterday, to heal properly probably 8 weeks, should be back after bye but probably well into the back of season.

We obviously rushed him back too quickly now paying the price.
Huge loss for three big games.
Why is so? He played/moved great 5 games with no issues. He got injured during Tigers game, finished game with strapping. No info on type of injury. Injuries happen.

Problem is medical advice suggests if you play within 12 months the risk of further complications are extremely high.
Will need to be very careful how we handle him going forward.

Not according to Fowler, the best guy in the world on ACL recovery who spent time with our guys.

Not according to Knowles who visited Suns and is probably the best guy on ACL recovery in the world. Yes, typical is 10-12 months but the recovery time is very individual according to him.

At the moment, it's just speculation that Weller's injury has anything to do with his ACL. He was involved in some nasty contests during Tigers game. I could easily speculate he sprained something in his knee, had knock to his knee, and so on. For sure they are taking no risks.

Considering how well Witts and King came back from ACLs I would be comfortable with our medical staff. BTW, Witts also played quite early. He did ACL on April 5 (surgery 2 weeks later) and played half pre-season game - probably under 11 months.

FWIW, Lions girl Lutkins came back from ACL after 8 months and 1 day and played out season with no issues. Weller was probably just over 9 months (did ACL June 4, returned in round 3 April 2).

Fairly sure Dew confirmed in a presser that it was soreness in his ACL knee.

Firmer update after the bye, but sounds like closer to the end of the season than anytime soon.
Depending on how we're going at that point it might be better than just put him on ice for the remainder of the season.

Saying that if we're in the hunt for finals bring him back.

Lachie back to a TBA on his knee. Must be some strife.

Buddas 3-4 weeks away!!
Lemmo 4 weeks.

Budders will be cleared to play after the bye. Is running well, rest is precautionary. Was runner in the VFL and spent his breaks on the field doing some agility and speed stuff with some of our performance personnel.

Update from Clive Barnard (FB) on Weller
I spoke with Lachie yesterday morning at the recovery session, minor tear in the ACL he had surgery on, club being conservative Lachie is being Lachie
😂

Couple of weeks he told me, he's already put in big sessions and could have been considered for 1 of the Darwin games.

SUNS captain Touk Miller is progressing well in his rehab from his meniscus injury, and is expected to resume running next week, which will assist the club in determining a timeframe for his return.

Lachie Weller is nearing a return to action and has integrated back in with the main group.

“Lachie has progressed back into training after managing some swelling in his knee recently,” GC SUNS Head Physiotherapist Lindsay Bull told the Qscan Injury Update.

“He won’t play this weekend but we are preparing him to be available after our bye.”

Defender Connor Budarick continues to edge closer to his own return to football, and is now listed as two to three weeks away.
