Dr Greg Hoy was the shoulder specialist.
I think Fyfe will get the surgery that will restrict his shoulder movement but will limit the chance for this to happen again (aka Walker's shoulder)
Take a moment and treasure the high fliying, one hander marks of 2011 as it we probably have seen the last of this syle of Fyfey. I am damn going to miss all this...

Nick Lower is listed on the injury list -1 week quad
Looks likely to be either Spurr on Roberton as his replacement this week

How many weeks after shoulder reco can one start running hard again?
I'd be inclined to hold fyfe off until next year, unless we look like capable of impacting the finals.
What's up with mora man.Hayes and krueser same injury and back playing. Why is mora so delayed?
If this 12 weeks is genuine, then why didn't they put him in for surgery a few weeks ago?
Discussed ad nauseum but anyhow
1) He played through a similar problem last year
2) They were playing it by ear and seeing how he pulled up since making a decision to go to surgery mid season is a big call
3) 1-2 weeks extra is nothing compared to the possibility of having him play for that 12 weeks if he pulled up fine
There's no reason why he can't be back for/before the finals.

But it wouldn't be "just in case". It'd be to further strengthen and condition his shoulder for his long term future. After all he came into this season on the back of a reco with a longer recovery time than 12 weeks and still injured it again, so I can't see how weeks or even months more time to strengthen it wouldn't be beneficial and safer than bringing him in as quick as possible? There's no point holding him back for additional weeks "just in case", he may as well never play again right?
I had client who started running at week 2 (not suggested but she was a very keen runner!). If they set him up on the 'anti-gravity' runner and have his arm in a sling it's feasible to run him quite early. Biggest risk (other than falling somehow) is synovitis. This can just happen anyway but if not handled well leads to a stiff shoulder joint.
The guy he is booked with is a gun and I suspect he will follow up with a physio program designed by lyn Watson. She to is a gun when it comes to shoulders.
I'd really like to see him put on a fair bit of muscle on his shoulders before he comes back (#nohomo).
You would like to see some swollen pulsating delts eh? (#youjustdon'tknowityet)
I'm not really a shoulders man. But if I was that way inclined, there'd be a couple of dockers who'd be in front of him ....... That didn't come out right
Cheers doc.I'd give fyfe sixteen weeks off.As we know time is the greatset healer of them all.
