Hi All,

As you're all very aware, United have had an 'interesting' start to the season.

Obviously with them being a big club, this is being spoken about in a lot of different threads and is taking away from the purpose of those threads.

To help deal with this, we have decided we are going to make one big 'Mega thread' where the majority of United talk can go. Obviously where applicable, discussing United will still be perfectly acceptable (Game Day threads for instance), this is more to provide a generic thread to discuss everything throughout the season. We ask that you try and keep as much of the United talk as you can, in this thread.

Topics of conversation could include formations, players, manager etc etc.

As this is strictly a United thread, we will relax a little more with the banter (try to avoid blatant trolling - If that's what you want, please use the Terrace). As per the site rules, posting personal abuse or anything inappropriate is not ok and will be dealt with accordingly.

Otherwise, welcome to the Manchester United Mega Thread.

Oh, and inb4, this player is earning this much and it is too much, and this player is earning that much, and you paid this much which is too much, and we only paid this much...etc etc.
Also known as 'Dippernomics'.

Specific team discussion goes on the team board, what's wrong with that thread?

May as well rename this to "Man U vs Liverpool s**t-fights" at least then it will serve a purpose, keeping that crap out of the rest of the forum.

This thread is to discuss Manchester United, not Liverpool.

The Team Board has threads that are mostly designed for those supporters only. This gives everyone a chance to voice their opinions without detracting from other threads.

Then why only Man United? The only reason they are the main topic of conversation at the moment is because of the transfer window, which is now closed. As the season goes on other teams will be more in the spotlight for various reasons, and will be more prominent topics of conversation across the board.

Seems a stupid idea to make a main board thread for one specific team when there is already an entire sub-forum dedicated to that purpose.

As soon as Arsenal become the biggest side in England then you can have a thread on the main board specifically for them :D

Because posters are continually discussing them in multiple threads. That was not the main topic of conversation, losing to Swansea and MK Dons and drawing with Sunderland has also created a lot of discussion about formations etc. United are one of the biggest teams in the EPL, if we get to a point where another club is being discussed in the same way, we can look at doing the same thing for them.

Arsenal currently have a thread on the main board about being stale and stagnating? Is that also stupid?

It's fine that you disagree with the thread, no one is forcing you to read it.

Okay I'll kick it off then:

United are a pile of s**t. Discuss.

And what is the problem with this? Posters discuss their league results in the matchday threads, the cup loss in the cup thread, their transfers in the transfer thread, I don't see any issue with it, its the same way every other team gets discussed.

That Arsenal thread is regarding a specific issue for discussion, which is what the main board is for, specific threads on specific events/tournaments/issues. General team discussion is the purpose of the team boards.

The problem was that it was detracting from the thread subject. No other team is getting discussed in the same way as United at the moment.

As I've already said, the team board was designed for supporters of that team. This thread is for everyone.

And again, it's fine that you disagree with the thread. Don't read it if that's the case.

Raised it on the podcast last week, but with QPR now starting to find their feet, and Leicester certainly not looking easy beats, it is quite conceivable United could start with 3-4 points from their opening 5 games. They haven't played any of the title challengers, and when they do and lose those games too, it really could become quite concerning for United supporters.

It's like the Kardashians, not so much people want to talk about them, but they just plaster themselves about everywhere, but then I guess it's the public's fault for being such blood hounds about those attention whores

I watched QPR v Spurs...They had a lot of feet to find.

DDG

Rafael Jones Rojo Shaw

Di Maria Blind Herrera Mata

Falcao Rooney

Is that the plan? How do they possibly fit three world class strikers in, especially when the obvious one to miss out is captain.

You do realise thread was not started by a United supporter right...poor analogy.
