Had absolutely no impact in Victoria during the state election. Ran a strong anti-small party campaign - failed as now 5 in Upper House (1 Sex Party, 2 Shooters, 1 DLP & 1 Vote Local jobs), heavily anti-green - fail as Greens won two lower house taking one from each party.
It has been noticable though how quickly they've dumped the Libs though and happy to pay out on Napthine over East-West once the costings were released and showed it would've been the biggest white elephant in the history of Victoria

If you had the most rudimentary understanding of the checks and balances at the ABC you'd realise how dumb your comment is.
Also, if you'd taken the time to even generally acquaint yourself with the Murdoch organisations appalling behaviour in the UK phone hacking disgrace and Murdoch's dissembling over it you'd have a rough idea of a man who has no real appreciation of the meaning of ethics or integrity.
Not to mention how his organisation willfully distorts the news on a daily basis. Or how he screwed mum and dad shareholders by changing the voting rights when it looked like his family would lose control of his empire.

Perhaps you'd like to detail some of these check and balances given you only require a rudimentary understanding. Anyone who seriously thinks the ABC isn't left winged biased is either stupid (which I doubt you are) or just needs to change the channel from time to time. And not just to SBS.

Talk about distorting the news! I now know the names of the Australian soldiers whose families he wrote letters to, but I'm not allowed to hear he is a muslim. The only reference to the fact he was a muslim was a side reference in a quote from the PM (that bastard!). Clearly the Australian public aren't bright or mature enough to hear that this was Islamic terrorism (which it was) without assaulting any random person in religious attire walking down the street.

Well done you for picking one piece that you claim is biased. If I took the trouble to regularly read the Dirty Diggers publications I'd not only be confronted with tripe directed at the mentality of 13 year olds on a daily basis but (to quote a Supreme Court judge) "errors of fact, distortions of the truth and inflammatory and provocative language" Or to put it in language you'd be more familiar with utter bullshit.
The ABC has a Fact Check Group which publicly exposes any errors.
There is also a group tasked with ensuring the rigorous editorial standards are adhered to.
The editorial policies of the ABC aren't hard to find. They run into 24 pages.
Don't look for anything like articulated 'standards' in the Dirty Diggers publications because there are none.
The ABC standards are so rigorously applied around election time producers have to count the minutes each political party gets to ensure equity.
The ABC has many right wing voices putting their views. Roskam, Wilson, Switzer, Albrechsen, Devine, Sloan, Henderson, Savva, Akerman are a few who are regularly on radio and/ or television
Then there's the nonsense about the journos being predominantly lefties when a survey recounted on 774 this year illustrated more ABC journos had moved to the reactionary side of politics than the progressive side. Sarah Henderson being one in the current Federal Parliament.

Dumb post. What Murdoch is saying is that the extremist issue can only be handled within the Muslim community. External parties trying to beat Islamic extremisn just causes more resistance. For real change to occur it must be driven from within. Understand?
