That's Wright's numbers are obviously completely made up but if you don't think a correlation exists between percentage of the population of a Western country that is Muslim and cultural/religious tension then you are either stupid or naive. Possibly both.
Not many demanding the introduction of Sharia Law in New Zealand or Slovenia... funny that.

More concerning is that every Western country that has a significant Muslim population has an increasing Muslim population. Let's say you have a country which is historically Christian or based on Christian values - like say, Australia.

Total population: 1981 - 15 million. 2011 - 22 million. +47%
Muslim population: 1981 - 75,000. 2015 - 475,000. +533%

So in 30 years the rate of Muslim population growth has been 10:1 with the general populace and we've gone from 0.5% to 2% or so.

According to ABS forecasts our population is expected to double by 2075 to 46 million. If the 2.8% above is accurate than linear extrapolation says we'll have around 1.3 million Muslims. Given the Muslim population grew 90% in the 1980s, 90% in the 1990s and 70% in the 2000s I'd expect that number to be at least 5 million at a minimum, close to 12%.

Given France has a Muslim population of 7.5% and the UK 4.6% is anyone really that naive to think that Australia wouldn't be in a world of poop with a Muslim population significantly higher? We have tensions now with a Muslim population that's probably 3% max...

The key to integration, assimilation, tolerance - whatever buzz word you want to throw at it is moderation. If one group in a society is increasing at an alarming rate relative to others there is always going to be tension. If that group is relative new and different that tension magnifies. If that group is considered by many (fairly or otherwise) to be unable/unwilling to integrate then that tension magnifies further...

Before anything else, the Muslim population in Australia needs to stabilise. 2%, 3%, 5%, 10% - whatever, it needs to reach an equilibrium. I find it staggering that people don't see this or think it's 'racist' or 'Islamophobic' etc. If the Muslim population continues to grow at a much higher rate than the rest of the population then the Bachar Houli's have no chance against the 'All Muslims are terrorists, they're taking overrrrrrr' brigade - let alone getting into actual social issues.
