The Libba "interview" was terrible journalism ..the questions bordered on childish ...Hutchy was terrible...anyone who couldn't see just how bad he really is needs to get their head read .

Oi. I'm kicking BY today, okay?

..and the other word you are looking for is "extract" not exert .

Actually, exert works just as well as extract.

ex·ert
premium.gif
(ĭg-zûrt') Pronunciation Key
tr.v. ex·ert·ed, ex·ert·ing, ex·erts

 1.
To put to use or effect; put forth: exerted all my strength to move the box.
To bring to bear; exercise: exert influence.
 2. To put (oneself) to strenuous effort: exerted ourselves mightily to raise funds.
Although given the context, 'elicit' would have probably been the best word to use.

The Libba "interview" was terrible journalism ..the questions bordered on childish ...Hutchy was terrible...anyone who couldn't see just how bad he really is needs to get their head read .

All that demonstrates is that he was clutching at straws because he knew that when it came down do it, he never had any hope of eliciting anything that would come close to constituting 'evidence' that Carlton were in breach of any AFL rules.

As far as journalism is concerned, yes, it was absolute shit.

But as far as tabloid journalism goes ie. sensationalist headlines to sell papers, the commercial reality is there are way more Carlton haters than Carlton supporters (15 other teams, 9 others in Victoria) and he knew there would be way more people absoluting loving the piece and he catered to those masses.

I see exactly what he is and what he does, my eyes are wide open, as is my mind so I won't think he's done a bad job simply because he's done the dirty on the club I love, not when that WAS what his job was last night.

Perfectly summed up :thumbsu:

Libba: "Winning wasn't the be-all and end-all, and we weren't selecting our best team each week"
Hutchy: "So would you classify that as tanking?"
Libba: "Errr, not sure. Depends on how you define it."
*Hutchy turns camera off*
Hutchy "FFS Libba that's not nearly slanderous enough! Now say YES!"
*Hutchy turns camera back on*
Libba: "I'd have to say yes, it is"
*Hutchy turns camera off*
Hutchy: "That's a wrap people!"
*Hutchy calls TFS*
Hutchy: "Yeah Gazza, got him to say it. Cool mate, run with it. Make sure my seat's ****ing polished this time!"

*fast forward to thusrday night*
Garry Lyon: "OMG LIBBA SEZ CARLTON TANKED OMG LOL!!!!!!!!"

*meanwhile, on bigfooty*
Brainless masses: "OMG LIBBA SEZ CARLTON TANKED OMG LOL!!!!!!!!"

Judd would have to be the best media performer out of any current AFL player by some length, generally -he's composed, articulate, insightful, is quite the intellectual, has an almost philosophical view on football, has great communication and to top it all off has a very witty (somewhat dry) sense of humour.

He did seem quite uneasy last night which seemed totally out of character for him.

No doubt he found out about the Libba interview 'bombshell' when the rest of the TV audience did, only a few minutes before he was going live on air as the captain of that club -a ratings dream come true and a CFC potential PR nightmare. There was no way in hell there wouldn't at least be some questions about the issue, even though he was there to promote another business entirely.

There would not have been time for the communications/media/admin people at the club to firm up a position on each specific part of the allegation and coach Juddy through them before he had to face a live television audience.

This situation obviously shook the best of them and I'm not in the least bit surprised at Juddy's uneasiness and lack of his trademark composure on camera, imagine how much worse it would have been if it really was, as you say 'not exactly the world's best media performer' who was coming on under those circumstances.
What a utter load of crap. Thought you were taking the piss. The 'Judd Love' is widespread at Carlton and valid enough as he is an absolute superstar, but it clouds your judgement at times.

Bitter much?

Judd Love at Carlton aint a scratch on the Carlton hate everywhere else...bring it on

Have to agree Judd is shaky at best in front of the cameras. And did anyone read his article about the aliens? Plays good but.

If you didn't see the show then why are you posting in this thread ???

and the word is "response" ..and the other word you are looking for is "extract" not exert .
Well, I'm on here because I wasn't going to start a thread on the Richmond board asking why are Carlton fans unhappy at Garry Lyon. So really, I was posting on this thread with the question of why you're all whinging about Garry Lyon, just so someone could, you know, maybe answer the question.
Why quote a post with a question in it if all you're going to do is give a spelling lesson and ask another, possibly rhetorical question?

And, just so you know for future reference, you generally only use one '?' after asking a question, and it's usually straight after the last letter of the question, rather than a space away.

But thanks for the spelling...no one else has picked up on it before :).
When you get text messages saying "hey m8, r u cumin 2day?" or something similar with typical trendy teenage language, do you always reply picking up the spelling mistakes rather than answering the question, or is it just me that extracted such a response?

Being the camera man why didnt you step in? Or were you keen on them both making asses of themselves? :p

Gee the whole JUDD to Carlton thing must have cut Garry really deep.

On last nights 'Footy Trashified' did anyone else pick up on Garry's 'Tank' comment/joke. I thought it was in very poor taste .

When Arch said Lachlan Hansen had a big tank, Garry said "Maybe he should be at Carlton".

Garry and Hutchy insinuate that Carlton tank all the time. Either say what you think or shut the @#CK UP :mad:

Arch is the only sensible, intelligent person on that show. The other 3 are monkeys. :)

why all the hate for hutchy?
I didnt see the footy show, but what could he have possibly said to exert this kind of responce?

I heard that he got Libba on to say you guys tanked...you did, we know it, you know it.

Did he say anything about other issues, or are you all just angry that he brought tanking back into the public eye?

He said your mum shagged his dog, and she loved it. :thumbsu:

Guys people have been slagging off carlton for 100 years - wear it with pride. It simply means your better. Every time Gary slags us - what can you say gary ? We're just better.

maybe if cfc put a ban of channel 9 personalities from access to any players/coaches for 2008 it might teach them a lesson. eddie & lyon might still be bitter about missing out on judd
