The Knickerbockers of New Yawk have announced Mike D'Antonio as their new coach.

More interesting is this rumour:

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/rumors/...lt=Ap.AhQK4GOfEpFKJjvESVm.LvLYF?urn=nba,82195

.....Stephon Marbury to run up the Garden floor ... and out the door back to Phoenix to rejoin the Suns according to the New York Daily News. Once D'Antoni is formally named to succeed Isiah Thomas, he is expected to try to make a push for two of his favorite Suns — forward Boris Diaw and guard Leandro Barbosa...

I like Barbosa at the knicks, now with D'Antoni in charge. Obviously it will work, same with Diaw. But there's no way I see this happening? Is Marbury even worth anything anymore??

yes starbury is worth a steaming lump of poo

Old news pete ;)

The Marbury for Barbie/Boris won't happen because the Knicks want to be under the cap for 2010.

Hahaha I was waiting for these rumours to pick back up.

You can take Brian Skinner with you Mike, you seem to love him.

What will D'Antoni do with guys like Zach Randolph and Eddy Curry?

I remember hearing that the Nuggets were pretty interested in Randolph before the trade deadline but nothing happened. His salary is so high that it makes it nigh on impossible trading him but rumour has it that Z-Bo will definitely not be in NY next season.

As for Marbury...maybe they could just buy him out. He's not in their future plans and you'd think there wouldn't be many teams lining up to trade for him either.

z-bo = Zelfstandig Bestuursorgaan

Do not see this ending well for either D'Antoni or Knicks.

Glad to here it Steve.

As a Phoenix fan I was not very impressed with the way he went about his departure.

Great, a buddy-buddy coach. That's what we need.
Mark Jackson should have been the man to come in. We need a former Knick, someone who would coach us with Knick pride. Jackson with Ewing as assistant would have been perfect.
Curry might as well be traded with D'Antoni in town.

Wha....

Z-Bo is Randolph's nickname dude...

Anyways I've decided that I'm gonna take up the challenge of rebuilding the Knicks in Association Mode on NBA 2K8. First offseason move was a 3 way trade sending Randolph & Wilson Chandler to Washington for Antawn Jamison and Etan Thomas and then trading those two to Seattle for Donyell Marshall and Chris Wilcox.

The whole reason for the trade was to get rid of Randolph, take on some expiring contracts who I will not re-sign and free up some damn cap space! Don't know what to do with Marbury...21 mil. makes him hard to move, think I might just waive him and be stuck with his salary for one season coz he ain't in my future plans for the team.

Already drafted a stud PF who will be an adequate replacement for Randolph after a season of development as well.

There is no chance this is going to happen...At least I don't want it to.
Marbury is too old and he is hopeless, plus why the hell would we want him when we have Steve Nash??

The only way this could happen is if there are some nice players coming with Stephon.

But it's NOT

If it were to happen, it would happen because Stephon Marbury has a massive 20M expiring contract and the Phoenix owner is a tightwad. Not because Stephon Marbury can or can't play.

You are right there buddy, I strongly agree with you but I do think that Marbury has had his day..

Apparently Avery Johnson is all set to sign with Phoenix ..

Dunno about these coaching merry-go rounds, although I have a feeling Avery may do well with the Suns ...
Still amazingly Steve Kerr still has his job there, after the failed Shaq experiment ..

I actually feel sorry for PHX fans, you get the impression that their window of oppotunity to win a title is fading fast.

The Utah Jazz own the Knicks 2010 first round pick.

Considering the current Knick roster and salary cap situation, and the fact that Lebron is out of contract in 2010 and already linked to NY, I think you will see the Knicks struggle to win 15 games.

Top 3 pick coming up for Utah. Hard to imagine consider the abundance of talent we currently have, but thats whats gonna happen.
