yeah not far off the money there. bernards could still challenge for top and that round 18 clash at the pit could be for that. marcellin look strong and oh seem to be in a touch of trouble. have skob really turned the corner?? don't know if caulfield will challenge for finals just yet but should probably avoid relegation. good young side so difficult to know, very unpredictable and inconsistent. teams may need a lot of wins to avoid relegation. very close down there

Does the ladder look settled for the end of the season already after 8 rounds?

1st - OEG
2nd or 3rd Marcellin or Bernies either team would need to fall in a big hole to miss.
4th, 5th & 6th - OH, SKOB & maybe Caulf a show to battle for 4th. 10 or 11 wins may get you in.
7th, 8th, 9th & 10th - the others battle it off but I would think the Wellers will have a better 2nd half of the year, so should be ok.

Nup, it's a top 5 and bottom 5. 5 sides with percentage in the 70s is horrible.

Is it School holidays already?

The Bloods have had disappointing second halves all season - they may have underestimated skob on the weekend!

The atmosphere at the Badlands was tremendous in the final term - it was a fantastic final quarter, with St Kevin's drawing level a couple of times before hitting the front. Both clubs supporters were barracking loudly and getting stuck into the umps. It was pleasing to see that they didn't respond to the banter by paying a stupid free kick as they have in previous weeks.

Standing in the outer, I particularly enjoyed the spray that some old man, surrounded by his mates thinking he was funny, was giving to a number of SKOBs players just after three quarter time. Hopefully he went home and enjoyed his humble pie!

Yeah it was a good atmosphere. Don't we love local footy! Congrats to SKOBS, they played it like a Grand Final and celebrated like one. I think they realised that if they can't beat the side that OH put on the park that they are in all sorts. OH should be disappointed to have thrown that one. Perhaps it will put a cracker up 'em and realise that there is a fifth side in the finals race. Those who were there for the first half were very disappointed in the standard, so i doubt SKOBS would threaten come finals time. OH certainly won't if they perform like that. Anyone know if SKOBS had a few injuries?

My Predicted ladder for the end of the Home & Away season

OEG (cruising)
St Bernards (going along nicely)
Old Hailiebury (experience counts at the business end of the season)
St Kevins (if they get a consistent 1's side on the park they will finish off strongly)
Marcellin (dont know what all the fuss is about)
Old Camberwell
Caulfield
Carey
Beumaris
Old Melburnians (probably staring down the barrel)

I'd break the ladder up into three parts....

Top 3 (basically couldn't see any other team winning the flag this year)

Middle Three- Will battle it out to make up the last finals spot

Bottom Four- I think OM's will go down... the other relegation spot will be in the hands of the percentage gods I feel.

Given that the avg age of OH seniors was about 21 maybe its uni holidays.

Enjoyed the summary although I feel Marcellin are severely under-rated. Only seen them a couple of times but were awesome. Foot skills are the competitions best I would say.

My comments have got nothing to do with any club affiliation Daicos, I find it hard to believe that Tony Bown and Voss are just playing with mates as you put it. You also may want to tell Voss not to mouth off to his ex Saints mates about his 'deal' at OH, seems a little naive. You brought up McKee, not me.

I would imagine every 'old boys' amo club in vic, skobs inc. to have multiple players running around that don't come directly from the school.
Maybe you're responsible for skobs being unattractive to the hoard of ex AFL players currently circulating in the b grade system
