In stock, cheaper and on one DVD instead of two :thumbsu:

Awesome, thanks very much for that. I have that game on video but the quality sucks now and it's not good enough for a copy to DVD so that will be great. Thanks again.

Against Nth Melbourne in 2000 qualifiying final - still get goosebumps watching this avalanche of goals - including Lloydy's 100th - Misiti's goal from well outside 50 and Rama's late one handed speckie with Richard Osbourne's commentary 'Showtime - boys!!' David King kicks 6 for the Kangas as a side show.

That would be a great watch again. I'll add that to my list.

Round 17, 1999. Essendon vs. North Melbourne.

One of the best quality football matches I've ever seen. Carey kicked 10, Lloyd kicked 7 and Mercuri was at his best.

We were robbed of a great Grand Final that year.

I can't believe I forgot that one, a definate must get. Also strange to think I forgot it considering I was there in the Ponsford on that day. Carey was out of control and I remember the crowd (which was 95% Essendon) gave him abuse like I couldn't believe.

At one point Lloyd kicked one out of the air in the pocket right in front of us. Best game I've been to.

One game I want to watch again is the Qualifying Final 2001 - Essendon vs Richmond. We absolutely smashed them and Lloyd brought up his ton for the 2nd year in a row. :thumbsu:

Round 11 2007- Essendon Vs West Coast. An absolute cracker of a game. A real heart stopper. The first half is a bit boring, but the second half is awesome. Hirdy played brilliant, I think he got 32 touches that game. Definetly worth watching over and over again!:thumbsu:

Always wanted to revisit out 84 preliminary final thrashing of the pies. Don't know if it's available anywhere though. This game would have to demonstrate the perfection that they had developed during the mid 80s.
That was so good to watch. It's always good watching the Pies get smashed. In the 84 preliminary final we won by 133 points.lol:D:D

Got that on DVD. Always great to chuck on the tv and watch.

I also have Essendon vs Sydney from the week before, but I struggle to watch that. It's only good for the last quarter.

I'm still after Essendon vs Richmond 2 weeks earlier and the Essendon vs Melbourne game.

That's the one. I was sitting right in front of that with a mate. Soon as he kicked it we just looked at each other and said at the same time "what a game". It had everything. Carey kicked a 40 metre check side on his left in the pocket up the other end. Ah the memories. Definately going to get that one. :thumbsu:

All the games mentioned are great, and you can't really go wrong with any of them.

However...

For something a little different, check out Rd 21, 1997 vs Brisbane. We came into the game in 15th place, Brisbane were 8th. We had been smashed by injuries, fielding probably our youngest side for years, 2 debutants, and were (not surprisingly) expected to get smashed. I haven't seen this game since the night it was played, so I won't comment on the quality of play. But I always remember this game for the inspriational efforts of a young, undermanned team, with basically nothing to play for, and the glimpse of what was to come from future leaders Lloyd and Lucas.

Also, I have always wanted to get a copy of Ess v Melb from Anzac Day 1992 (before the Ess v Coll tradition started), doesn't look like Name-a-Game has this one. Unfortunate, cos it was a ripper.

Not usre if it is available but the 1984 second semi was a cracker (best game I ever saw) Even though we lost all the Bomber fans went away happy because we had seen a great game and we knew that we could match with a team that until that day had seemed unbeatable.
Someone has posted the final moments here http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=463297

Interesting to note how many player went on the coach from these teams.
Mark Thompson
Tim Watson
Mark Harvey
Ken Judge
Leigh Matthews
Peter Scwab
Terry Wallace
Gary Ayres
Rodney Eade

I've got the Essendon Vs Melbourne game, that's a very enjoyable game to watch. The first quarter we absouletly owned the Dees. For the rest of the game it was close. Thanks to Scotty Lucas we won that awesome game!:D

Essendon vs North Melb Round 16 2001 (Come back game)

Will get that DVD myself now :P
If you don't have that game, you are NOT a true Essendon fan. One of the all time great games. Chuck it on before every North Melbourne game and listen to Clinton Grybas and Rex Hunt dominate for 3AW.

David Hille kicked the winning goal with a soccer IIRC.

After Solly got a free kick and deserved a Logie.
Ha ha yep.

Hille was very good in that final quarter after being ordinary the first 3 quarters. Hird got flattened at the start and didn't play that well.

But it was weird listening to them saying "Young Hille" or "Rookie Watson".

Thanx mate. Was actually hoping to get the entire season but i guess the highlights pack will have to do. Just want a refresher of how good we were! Haha Good times!

one of my favourites...it was one of my first games as a kid, and my first introduction to the legend that is gavin wanganeen...

also, the 1993 game between essendon and geelong, where ablett and salmon had a goal shoot out...back in the day where we still had gun full forwards dominating the AFL.

Actually you can purchase every Ess game of the 2000 season from Name a Game as part of a season set. I am thinking of doing this myself.
