We have an abundance of 21-22 yr olds. We have quite a few 20 yr olds too actually. We only have 3 19 yr olds and 2 18 yr olds. If we take another 18 yr old in the PSD and take 5 18-20 yr olds in the rookie draft, it will be much better balanced. 6 30-31+ yr olds is not balanced.
 
And just to add what im saying with the age thing. Someone asked before how we would feel if cousins burnt out half way through the season. Well just because you get a 18yo kid doesnt mean he is going to be a 10 year player for the club. Not all kids go on with it. A lot cant handle the pressure of the spotlight. We are talking one 18 yo who may not make it physically or mentally.....or we can take cousin, who we know can play the game. To me when you way up the pros and cons of cousins vs a unknown kid....im sorry but im backing cousins.

Gourdis...the next white hope, christ we delisted him before peetifer and john and now we are all clamouring to pick him back up......what a bunch of muppets we will look like.

If he was a project player would we have delisted him???????

I still don't understand all this

We have two more drafts left this season

PSD tomorrow and a Rookie draft Correct Y/N

Why do we only have 1 pick in the PSD?
Why cant we pick up 2 players in the PSD?
Why cant we just pick up Cousins as a Rookie in the Rookie draft?

Footy nowadays is all about "youngsters, youngsters, youngsters". Sometime I wonder if clubs use terms like "long-term list management" and other bulls**t phrases to give them an out if they don't do well right away.

You guys have a very good, young list already. At some point you have to add some experience. I was well and truly in the minority in thinking Stuey Dew was a shrewed pickup for us last year. In the heat of the Grand Final, the big fella was awesome. At some point you have to say, "we have enough good kids".

Coaches and mentors can teach the young blokes as much as they want off the field in classrooms and drills, but once they run on the ground they are on their own. There is simply no replacement for experience ON the field, and someone like Cousins would provide that in spades.

If i read the Tigers supporters right, you are all sick of waiting for success. Take an untried kid at number 6 and unless they are a complete freak like Selwood or Rioli and you'll get nothing out of them for years, and there's no guarantee of them doing anything. Take a punt on Cousins and the pedigree is there, the runs are on the board and all he needs is his touch back. An untried scrawny kid, vs a flawed, yet brilliant Brownlow Medallist, and Premiership player. I know which I'd prefer.

I hope you get him for the sake of footy.

See i was under the impression that we were at the end of a building stage. Didnt wallace say that our premiership hopes were aimed at 2011. At some stage surely we have to stop builing a list and start building a team that can play finals. 18yo kids arnt going to win flags. But a mix of some youth and some experience can. Look at hawthorn. Do you think they are regreting taking stewy dew over a 18yo?

That is the sort of closed minded thinking that will lead us no-where. If we are going to build a premiership list, we need to embrace the national and rookie drafts. It is always, "Just this one pick", and it turns into more and more. You need to set a philosophy and stick to it. Once you have the cattle, you can then tinker.

We've only got one spot left on the Senior list tt, hence only one PSD pick. It's why we passed on our last draft pick in November. Putting Polak onto the Rookie list would have given us a second pick in the PSD.

as much as i hope it works emailing them wont do much, i bet admin person or whoever it is has already been informed to delete them or move them into a seperate folder where maybe 1/100 will be looked at

im afraid the only reason they are going to hold a press conf today is to advise everyone that they wont be selecting cousins, so they dont get bombarded with emails and phone calls over night.
