New album is a corker.

Just waiting now for the tour, because although it took them years to step foot on Australian shores they sure did realise just how loved they are over here.

I haven't heard the new album but Clutch are one amazing band (I've been fortunate enough to see them live four times). Hopefully the new album will mean a new tour.

Haven't heard the new album yet either, but would love to see them tour.

This is my favourite Clutch song btw:

The new album is fantastic.

Checkout their myspace page. The album has leaked, so you should know where to look.

It's got a Robot Hives feel to it.

I've never heard of this band. But that track was awesome. Guess I'll be exploring them now. Great stuff. :thumbsu:

Its a shame that they aren't recognized more because they are a truly fantastic band...I've played 'The Elephant Riders' to death over the years, its that bloody good. Not to mention their other releases..

I heard them for the 1st time a couple of weeks ago on Triple J, was Hoagy's band of the week and was very impressed.

I am going to check them out for sure, is there any albums that can be reccommended??

Here's the thing they've transformed enormously over their career so they really do have an album for everyone(they do have about 12 albums).

If you like heavy tunes their earlier stuff will be up your alley, if you like the bluesy twang then you'd like the newer stuff.

My personal favourites are Jam Room, Blast tyrants and Robot Hives.

I first was exposed to Clutch in 2004 when a mate of mine gave me a copy of Blast Tyrant - it's an amazing album I also love From Beale Street To Oblivion, Robot Hive/Exodus, Transnational Speedway League: Anthems, Anecdotes, and Undeniable Truths (check out the tracks Binge and Purge, A Shogun Named Marcus and Walking in the Great Shining Path of Monster Trucks) and The Elephant Riders.

I have a feeling they'll be back to tour the new album. Will be a must see show!

I'm glad I don';t have to go to massive stadiums to see them live. They'll definately tour the new album, lucky for us. Probably my favourite band, not a comment many would make lightly.

My Second fav band of all time (behind Kyuss). Flew over to Melb from Perth to see them in 2006 gig tix were 35 bones, flight cost me 430 bones! lol. Have got all my mates and brothers mates into them over the years since I first heard them in 1998.

In order from fav to least fav I would go

Blast tyrant
Elephant riders
Robot hive
Pure rock fury
Self titled
Strange cousins (this may rise though)
Beal St
Jam room
Transnational speedway

Sick band!! ANTHRAX RADIO, AND LIQUOR!!!!!

They been around for nearly 20 years but what i've heard of them they really have improved since those days in the mid 1990s.Their music is a little like Corrosion Of Conformity.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned just how good JP is as a drummer - in my books he's up their with John Bonham.

For the uninitiated here's a bit of live Clutch awesomeness.

The Bakerton Group really gives the guys a chance to show their musical wares - JP shines.

As a clutch fan i have to say i am dissapointed with Strange Cousins, really seems to be a rehash and not their strongest album, maybe i was just too keen, still absolutely rapt to get a tkt to soundwave cant wait to check them out live.

It has its moments, although it does sound a little less "warm" with no organ on it.
50,000 Unstoppable Watts has live classic written all over it, Freakonomics is a highlight, Abraham Lincoln has been mentioned as the favourite riff that Tim Sult has ever written and would sound massive live too.

Nah COC are completely different altogether.
