I normally get on the place, where I can see value >$2. No point under that really. No going to be profitable that way

If you assess something as a $1.30 chance and it runs as a $1.70. Then that is VALUE. If you chose to never bet below $2. Then at least keep a record so that you KNOW for sure what your doing is actually helping your return. Not reducing it.

And you may be suprised in how much profit can be made from the $1.20-$1.50 odd range. You just need to do the research, and not make a selection thinking that it will run at $2 the place.
 
Like there in Ballarat. 5 was always going to be a very good shot at a place. Had the early pace, but was well overs because of the box draw, but clearly overlooking the fact there was absolutely no speed coming from the 2,3, or 4. Gave him a dream run, cut in front of the odds on Fav in the 1, avoided the trouble and ran away.

I got on for the $2 place. Wish I had confidence and went the win.

I also agree with what you say Oaks. I reckon you could be very profitable place backing if you adopt your views.

We've made it to 10 bets. Will still be in profit +$10 if we lose. At this rate. 100 races = $100 profit. Would be nice. But far too time consuming for what it is worth.

I've gone 2,3,4,8 Box tri

Did that before you posted about F4. Would have put my money in for that.

Disappointing. Underestimated the speed from Box 1 and 5.

Consider the class of greyhound and box Secret Skulls has been in lately.

Now compare this against video. Use to be in the Kel Greenough kennel and was going great guns early. Is just getting back to best.


Because how are you judging early speed??

Magic Sprite smahsed in late. Was about $2 to place just before the jump. Results come in, and he closed at 1.04

Just got back from a big TAB session... have to say, worst night ever... couldnt pick a winner to save my life, and 9/10 bets of the day didnt even place! :eek:

To top it off, I made an accidental $10 bet on Dawn Breaker at Richmond which I had no idea about... paying $6 looked like it had it won until it decided to die in the arse...

Angry, very angry.

Done that before. Punted on a dog/horse that I totally had no idea I had or accidentally did and it got beaten, just. Frustrating as they come...
 
A simple filter to bet at the TAB with limited knowledge; make sure your bet is a top 4 selection from the expert tipsters from your state. They should have around an 80% S/R in one of their top 4 selections winning.

From there. You can make up your own mind for a bit of fun.

Yeah thats pretty much what we do... But yesterday was just ridiculous... the best bet of the day at each track (rated highest by every tipster) came last... Just one of those days I guess.

Good value in #7 Brownlow Harvey for the win. In very good form with a win over the 450 at Shep. Came out 2nd, then surged past in the middle section then stormed home. Outside chance if he jumps well.

#1 Beastie Boy and #8 Brazen Bluey, both have recent sub 30 sec times over the 520 here at Sale. Both have the early speed, so whoever jumps the better should be too hard to catch.
