"My 15-year-old called him a Max Rooke type and I reckon that probably just about nails him. He doesn't get 30-plus possessions, he'll get somewhere in the 20's, but he's just a real goer and defensively he's as good as anyone. At state screening he went 2.89s for the 20m, which is pretty slippery. Very coachable and a player who jumped up out of the clouds in the second half of the year." - Calder Cannons coach Martin Allison.

Sounds like a good tagger/back pocket prospect to me.

The Bolded would be the main reason we Drafted him because Hine like to draft Coachable Kids
 
I know everyone says this sort of thing but Tommy is from my local club East Keilor in the EDFL and is a first class citizen.

Has a real interest in the club and has assisted with junior teams as he is interested in the coaching side of things. Has been training flat out and as late as a couple of weeks ago was out helping at training with my U/14's with their summer training.

One bloke you really hope makes it. Well done Tommy! :thumbsu:
 
Wow there's certainly alot to like about this fella after watching his highlight reel (Thanks DTM)!

Very nice skills, on both sides and not far off lightning when he wants to move!!!

Nice size about him too which will boost his chances of making a play for the ones this year!!

Jeez our depth is going to be phenomenal this year!! I just hope players like Wood, JMAC and Dawes don't get there noses out of joint if they don't get a run every week!!
 
He came to my school today he is very nice i asked him were he played he said Centre Half Forward Averages 17 disposals in the TAC cup for Calder cannons

I was very suprised to see him i didn't know who he was i was like OK his a normal dude and then then my teacher said Tom got drafted to Collingwood i went sraight up too him and asked him all these question. And i got his autograph. he seems like a very nice person and i was very happy to meet him

Just caught his highlight reel.

Is a very good size and has a very good turn of speed. Seems to back himself and is very tough ala the Max Rooke comparisons.

Good to see he can use his left side too.

Hopefully he can show a bit and earn promotion onto the senior list.

Jesus the kid is ambipedal, you'd have to be told which is his natural kicking foot.
 
Looks like a really nice mover. Great turn of speed. It's hard to pull too much from the highlight videos though. Every player drafted looks like a potential gun.

Remember a few years ago when were desperate for midfielders? Hine has gone midfielder crazy!

Played all my junior footy with Tommy.
He is very courageous and does what is best for the team first.
He is no show pony, but i super talented and if needed to do the fancy stuff, believe me, he is very capable.

I don't think he will make it as a tagger however. Too offensively minded and loves to get a dirty ball and feed it out. Pack breaker, bursting speed and big long kick.
Accuracy was some what a problem at times, but has improved massively in the last year.

Great pickup. Wanted him at Essendon in the PSD personally. Will make an impact should he get the chance. Very dedicated.
