Re: Round 10 - Trades

I'm all for Gilbee.

Opt Two Bullies hitting next gear now.

I have 13 trades and $189k...

Opt 1 Trade Daniel Wells to NDS and Kennelly to Gilbee leaves me with $8600

Opt 2 Trade Daniel Wells to NDS and Kennelly to Gilbee leaves me with $8600

Opt 3 Trade Daniel Wells to NDS and Kennelly to Gilbee leaves me with $8600

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Round 10 - Trades

Any thoughts lads?

option 2 i'd go with if i was wearing ur shoes. goose is still good as a D6/7!

my 2 trades for this week.

martin to murphy
gumbleton to watts

only question on everyones mind: murphy or nds? i think murphy seems to be the consistent regardless of when he gets tagged or not. however when nds is effective.. he can really bealt the 140+ scores. saints also has an easy run home. what everyone's take on this battle?

Option 1, 2 or 3 are the same...is this a trick question? :D

Re: Round 10 - Trades

I'd go with Gilbee or either Gilbee perhaps? haha

here's my question i posed last night but got skipped over by all of you..

Ok these are the two trades i'm thinking of doing from knowledge i've gleened off a few forums including this one

Dustin Martin> Jordan Gysberts

Tahig Kennely> Paul Duffield

I've heard nothing but good things about Jordan Gysberts so surely will be a good cash cow and will get enough games with the way bailey plays the kids.

I'm trading Martin over Bastinac as according to the Break evens Martin has to get just over 60 to break even yet Bastinac only needs around 39 so i think he has at least one more good price rise in him but i think Martin has hit close to his peak so time to cash in!

with the extra cash (plus the 27,500 i already have in the bank) i shall trade up from Kennelly to Duffield. I'm not even sure why i am going Duffield other than he was recommended by a guy who came 11th in DT last year on a recent podcast, and i figure he's gone down a bit in value so far so he's at a good price and will hopefully go up soon and maybe a bit of a left field choice in that people i play will either have Lake, Gilbert or Gilbee.

Anndd the other bonus for doing that trade is i will have $160,000 in the bank for either a forward or midfield upgrade in the future (would have 9 trades left after this so i'd probably wait a few weeks and sit on this team from this round)

Thoughts?

Re: Round 10 - Trades

Warnock > Skipper
Martin > Murphy

Midfield will then be complete.

Thoughts...

Sounds good. I like Duffield but his scores seem to have staggered of late (without knowing his exact scores).

Re: Round 10 - Trades

yeah they are a little, seems like he's average isn't as good as last year so far but i think maybe having the extra cash for a premium midfielder upgrade in a few weeks may outweigh that factor because if i get gilbee it limits who i can upgrade too from say Bastinic in a few weeks

Re: Round 10 - Trades

Sylvia - Playfair (Fyfe on field)
Bastinac - Marc Murphy

Midfield of; Judd, Barlow, Dal Santo, Pendlebury, Cooney and Murphy

Re: Round 10 - Trades

Rucks are very weak. Apart from that not bad. :thumbsu:

Yeh was gonna go leunberger to coz but I see more upside in having gilbee rather then cox and also now completes my backs bar waters who is a decent d7, fwds and Mids hope to push the ranking bit higher now

id question the warnock/skipper trade unless you are short a ruckman and/or need the money and have plenty of trade up your sleave. im of the opinion that you dont waste trades on R3/4 unless its truely necessary there is little value and ROI (return on investment) there.

Re: Round 10 - Trades

Done.
Bob Murphy - Griffiths
Gumby - Franklin.
If Hitchcock outscores Cyril or Ziebell again sitting on the bench I'll do my stack.
Cost me the BF Div 22 league match last week.

Re: Round 10 - Trades

Brought in Grimes over the more logical options of Hurn/Shaw/Fisher/Gilbert/Duffield.

Don't care if it burns me, love having the kid in my team

Re: Round 10 - Trades

Getting rid of cyril, been a pain in my farward line all year,
Lookin to dowgrade for D7 or (depending on a few things) possible cow spot on the pine
Options are
Playfair(not sure bout him, was last week a one off, JS?) or
Watts(really impressive, good hands clean under pressure, but does he score enough, can he get some more of the pill) or even
Leroy Jetta(hit some good form and looks like he could be quite good this year plus hes a bit of a different pick)

SO
Playfair + 124,500 or
Watts + 92,000 or
Leroy Jetta

Open to other sugestions

Re: Round 10 - Trades

Sylvia - Playfair (Fyfe on field)
Bastinac - Marc Murphy

Midfield of; Judd, Barlow, Dal Santo, Pendlebury, Cooney and Murphy

I wouldn't be trading out Colin Sylvia. His price is probably as low as it is going to get right now. Looks to be coming into form and if you have him I would see him as a keeper.

Anyway my trades for the week are:
Scully ---> Goodes
Kennelly ---> ???

Can afford anyone other than Goddard or Lake.
The main ones I am looking at are:
Enright ($483K)
Grimes ($469K)
Bock (428K)

What are people's thoughts on the best option out of those 3.

Re: Round 10 - Trades

I am actually considering bringing in Playfair for Rioli and upgrading and kid in the midfield to Cooney, Dal Santo or Gilbee.

Am I crazy or what?

Yeah, i guess a trade on a R3 or 4 is a waste. Thanks for that.

Edit: Should've looked at Gumby's BE. Now doing Gumby > Watts

It completely depends on where Rioli is sitting in your pecking order. I wouldn't want to be relying on Playfair for points, but as a straight cash cow, he looks a solid bet. If you're looking for points and you've still got enough left over to make the upgrade you want, I'd say Watts is a better option. Or Kane Cornes is worth a look if you need a cheaper midfield upgrade.

As for me, I've been agonising over it all week. Trengove must be traded (Shuey and Stevenson on the bench). Goodes/Cornes the likely in as my final midfielder (Ablett, Barlow, Judd, Cooney, Mitchell). I can afford Chappy, but I'm thinking I can get him cheaper next week (hopefully he doesn't go beserk against Melbourne). So, I'm leaning towards Maguire for Grimes. That will leave me 371k, (very) hopefully enough for a straight Gumbleton - Chapman swap. If not, I will either need to sacrifice Tippett (not much of a sacrifice, really, but it means Fyfe must be a consistent F7 option), or burn two trades next week.

Enright.

He's a steal at that price.

Re: Round 10 - Trades

Exactly! A hack over a No.1 draft pick. That's a no brainer....

Playfair will be straight out once Bradshaw and White return....

When one has a BE of -48 and is playing Geelong, and the other has a BE of -97 and a higher average, it's a no brainer which will be a better earner. In 2 weeks, Playfair will be at least 100k higher than wherever Watts is. And the 40k pocketed from playfair this week might be a big thing to some people, after all, consider that it's the difference between Chapman and anyone else. So for some people Playfair at F9 might be a much better bet.

in two weeks there is a good chance that playfair wont even be playing.....

remember that later on in the year emergencies can play a big part once trades start to dry up..... if you have plenty of trades then playfair, if you are with 8 trades or less, I would go watts for better security.....

ive got 12 trades and about to use 2 to downgrade gumby to watts, then martin to judd..... maybe Im being too conservative, but with 10 trades, only 2 players to upgrade and avg 2210 Im feeling good heading to finals time..... then the extra trades will hopefully be used to upgrade 7's such as maguire and pods depending if I remain injury free....

Exactly my point. Would you rather have Watts coming into your side as an emergency in Round 18, or a Henry Playfair, who in all likeliness may be sent back onto the rookie list as Craig Bolton and Mark Seaby return from injury. As this stage of the year, it's not all about making money, it's about setting your team up for finals.
