How is Wozniacki the world no 1?
She is playing in the quarter final of a Grand Slam tournament, on a court that begs for winners, and she hits ONE WINNER IN THE FIRST SET.
I was hoping she could turn her career around and win a grand slam, but I seriously doubt she will ever win one, unless she improves her game, pushing every ball back but almost incapable of hitting winners isn't going to win you grand slam tournaments.
My understanding is she's ranked 1 because she plays more tournaments then the other "top" female players, and therefore "adds" the points up more then a Clijsters or a Zvonereva does. (Is that right?)
Not watching this match but I can see what's going to happen here. Typical of women's tennis.
The lower-ranked player gets up a set and a break and then does her darndest to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Happens too often.
How is Wozniacki the world no 1?
I said to my mate yesterday that Li Na was my pick.
Australia Day schedule has been released:
Petra Kvitova(CZE)[25] vs. Vera Zvonareva(RUS)[2]
Agnieszka Radwanska(POL)[12] vs. Kim Clijsters(BEL)[3]
Alexandr Dolgopolov(UKR) vs. Andy Murray(GBR)[5]
Rafael Nadal(ESP)[1] vs. David Ferrer(ESP)[7]
Doubles TBA
I wouldn't be that happy if I had a night session ticket tomorrow night. They should have put one of the womens 1/4 final on at night before the Nadal Ferrer match. Both night and day session ticket costs the same.
And i was someone who didnt think Stosur choked.
