I hope so, but he was a lost sheep up forward on Sunday, ran around in circles. Needs kick up bum. Maybe back half to get the ball in his hands a bit. Or do the Nick Reiwoldt thing and take chest marks on the wing and bomb it 70m into Jack. Inside 50 Griff is hopeless atm, doesn't know where to go.

Give him time! Look how insipid Vicks was last year, now he's our second best fwd and is a real presence up forward.

I hope he kicks at least 2+ by years end but seems unlikely.

Good thing to avoid the Schulz, Georgiadis, Shaun Charles,Marty McGrath beginning to ones career.

If he kicked a bag this early I would be inclined to trade him while he is hot.

Given the hysteria over Tuck "must be played for us to win" I cant understand why this kid is playing? He is not fit, looks lost out there and clearly not ready for AFL, YET. If he is to be given games for development in front of guys like Post & Miller then Tuck also should have played his last game.

I love Griff. He is my dead-set favorite player. If his body stays in one piece, he will be a force for us. Not this year, not next, but thereafter.

Every game we get into Griff is gold.

Whilst he is getting minimal number he gets all his possession in the forward half as a general rule. So he just needs to get into greater habit of positioning himself and then with confidence we will see a sharp rise.

Spot on mate. Even Buddy was pretty shite in his first year from memory. Those big athletic guys run out of puff so quickly until they have a couple of pre-seasons behind them.

I rememeber the same debate about 1 JR8 in his first 1-2 years, same debate about a bloke named Tyrone too....as someone previously posted, every game we get into Griff is gold.

He must be one of the few youngsters who is gifted games for us.

Will bag 3 at some stage....that Essendon game is what you wanna look at. Outmarking Dustin Fletcher.

I think we should ruck Vickery, play Griff at CHF with Jack at FF and use him as a target.

Griff, if he can live up to what the recruiters saw in him will come on in the next few years. Giving him games now in front of others is waving the white flag IMO.

If we play Griff in front of Post just so he gets some game time then what does that say about Post? I would hate to see Post go elsewhere next year and become a good solid player when he should be doing that for us.

Griff can be anything, so they are playing him to give him experience at the AFL level. If it comes off we have a superstar forward line. If he goes nowhere, we lose games into another young guy, who hasn't the same ability.
Given that they really aren't trying to win, they are trying to build a future team, playing Griff makes great sense. Just don't expect anything but glimpses. They are trying to fast track his AFL apprenticeship. He'll be good, bad and indifferent, like TV. But, also (hopefully) like TV he will come through.

I don't know, in the few possessions I've seen Griff get (specifically the Bombers game) I'd say he's heads and shoulders above Post as is, just haven't seen all that much to get excited about with Post.

As others have said took Jack and Tyrone a couple of years to come on and the more gametime Griff gets the better.

what Prowler said, he'd only kick more than 1 at VFL level, and i don't even remembering him doing that very often

bring back Miller!

Interesting comments from the stats man at Coburg. Are your thoughts mirrored by the players at coburg? Is this causing a rift?

^ all of the above. Needs games at the highest level to push himself to realise his potential. Anything good he does over next season and a bit will be a bonus. 2013+ will be his time:thumbsu:
