Bad luck tonight guys, I guess the silver lining is that Carlton are pretty close to a flag. As an opposition supporter I thought that your team really lacked a key forward and then in Rattens presser he was quoted as saying that you really need a blue chip forward.

I agree with this.

A tall forward would be good, mature aged to fill the gap between Waite and Setanta's exits and the rise of the youngsters like Mitchell.

I think its possible we may not see a lot more of Waite. He will play at 29 next year and his body has never been all that durable.

D

Totally agree - throw the kitchen sink at someone like Dawes. There MUST BE salary cap pressure down at the pies ... It will probably cost us any high draft picks we have this year but may well be worth it.

Just to stir stuff up... we sent Warnock in one-out against a gun ruck duo last night, and it cost us the game. We also lacked a serious forward target all night. Ratten implied there would be changes. Out of contract Hampson did not play why?

Because he rolled his ankle and sprained it at training on Friday... shit happens.

Trade Week

As we all know, trade week is not too far away and that is when all the rumours are thrown around and whispers of players leaving or being put up for trade are posted on the boards.

Brett Ratten mentioned after last night's loss that we will play 'aggressively' at trade week and that this would be the last time this 22 played together!

I believe this topic deserves it's on thread as it would limit the amount of crazy thread posting on the Carlton board.

Who do we target? BJ? An inside mid? Key defender?

There's plenty of players who I'd target but the bigger question is who do we trade out? We need to give up quality to get quality and I'm just not sure which of our high value players we'd be letting go.

Surely Levi Casboult,Mathew watson,Pat McCarthy,Luke Mitchell will be able to fill a kpb role next year . releasing waite to play Chf and Henderson to play FF.

Prefer the following set up

FB: Jamo
CHB: Hendo

CHF: Waite
FF: Mitchell
Much prefer that. :thumbsu:

With Casboult starting on the bench. ;)

Re: Recruitment Thread

Kosi? Lol. No way.

Brian Lake looks like he hates being at the Dogs after his treatment this year. Try and get in his ear that he'd be more comfortable at the blues. Offer the Dogs ourfirst round pick (which will be in the mid 20's i'd assume).

He's turning 30 and his body might be touch and go. But he's a fantastic player at his peak and i'd be willing to take a punt on him. If he gets fit we are an infinitely better side.

Jamison, Lake and Laidler down back would be one of the best, if not the best tall defender set up in the league.

Heard from a north board member that they will have a clean up with mcIntosh on top of list would we be interested In him in a kreuzer role

Someone saying they want McIntosh on BigFooty isn't really anything worth speculating over. They wouldn't want to let go of him.

And it's Kreuzer. I hate to be picky, but I don't like our own supporters spelling player names wrong.

Sorry About the spelling on my phone I'll change it

We probably need to think about getting another ruckman on the list, however there is no way we should entertain trading for one.
Agreed. Must focus on the needs rather than the wants.

They'd be muppets to let McIntosh go and put their faith in Goldstein, Daw and Mabon.

You always need at least two good big men.

They have Petrie who can ruck though and you think daw would be ready round 1 2012
