ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh - those areas are pretty much the worst areas in Melbourne..

I lived in Canterbury for years and absolutely despised it. So waspy. So boring. So damn lacking in everything except golden retrievers, Laura Ashley linen, and women wearing tennis visors while they have coffee in the worst shopping centre in Melbourne. It's so sanitised that it's like living in a mosquito zapper.

Sure it's got leafy streets, Edwardian homes and 'nice' people but I'd honestly have to say out of all the areas I've lived in Melbourne, that was the worst.

I see what your saying. Those areas in the inner east kind of give me that vibe. I haven't lived there before but when going to the city passed through those suburbs a few times.

Agreed. I prefer living next to refugees and having people get shot three streets away.

At least its a community.

Based on what I value about where I live, it was/is for me. I certainly don't want my kids growing up there (and they don't).

Completely agree with you. My exes parents live there so have spent a lot of time there. Lovely family but I do not like the area at all. Ivanhoe isn't as bad but I find that too waspy and boring. Aesthetically beautiful but doesn't have anything remotely interesting.

I live in Black Rock which is sandwiched between Sandringham, Beaumaris and Cheltenham. Lovely spot, it's quiet, has nice shops, on the beach, doesn't have a train station which is definitely a good thing. I'd say in the top 4-5 suburbs in Melbourne as well. Love it there.

Obviously after what happened Vermont South is going to get bagged but overall it is a good suburb. According to Wikipedia it is known as the Brighton of the Eastern Suburbs.

I'm surprised you guys even have the guts to bag VS online. The murda kids that rep those endz have been known to hunt down people who slag their hood online.

Been overseas so will have to look up what happened in Vermont South? I play soccer there weekly, our team's never been in a fight so musn't be too bad!

"Screw the President. If he's stuck in Vermont South, he's gonna have to fend for himself"
