Re: LeCras

The thing that worries me isn't just that we'll be without him for a year, but whether he'll be able to return with his agility exactly as it was and his field and goal kicking skills just as sharp. He'll have to build up his fitness again too and might not make that full-time move to the midfield we've been anticipating until after 2013. By which time he'll be turning 28...

I'm being way OTT, aren't I.

The timing is just awful, too. Been a genuine gun for a couple of years, coming off a big pre-season and entering the prime of his career (age wise at least), looking to take his game up a level and become a genuine A-grade mid.

In hindsight, this post is interesting:

The very good news is this is Mark Lecras first proper preseason in three years.

So look foward to huge improvement from him, he has had groin and knee problems last few years and missed large chunks of preseason.

Maybe with better fitness he may spend more time in the midfield as well.

interesting and sad.

I was having such a shit day already.

Starting to look like a whole bottle of scotch tonight.

Do we have positive stories of players bouncing back from reconstructions? I just always think of Jakovich.

The thing is we don't really need him in the midfield, we have enough talent there already if it continues developing. I don't know why we try and push a superstar forward and make them into mid's.

Terrible news! Bad luck frenchy, hopefully he can come back just as good. Now its time for a few of the young'ens to step up, Hill, maybe Dick, or even strijk, although none of those can cover him hopefully we can get a good amount of goals out of them. Wont be missed in the midfield at least but still not good :(

Not worth the risk with lars hopefully he will recover quicker and be ready for preseason training. Just got this feeling since we have been trying to make him into a midfield he has been getting injured IE groin last year and now his knee.

WTF? He could have done his knee like that doing almost anything. Training with the mid group hasn't cursed him.

Don't remind me of Jack post knee. Those were sad days watching him try run around, was a passable player after but nowhere near the heights he'd been.

It is sad for LeCras :( but could be a blessing in the long term for this team of young players. Be good to see someone with some speed to burn in our forward line.

Absolutely gutted, pretty much the worst news we could've gotten.

Just hope he doesn't go down the LARS road cause it'll only cause more problems later.
