Carlton lose! Geelong and Hawthorn out of the 8! And Collingwood getting stronger and stronger. Bring on Friday night!!!!!! :thumbsu:

Absolutely and for the punters out there Collingwoods odds are still a steal on the futures markets.

If you look at top 4 chance we are paying $2.50 compared to Hawks $1.50 or Carl $1.80. That means you get paid 3x as much for Pies making top 4 compared to Hawks and almost twice as much as Carlton. Similar with flag odds. I got on last week when it was even better but when we knock off Geelong these odds will reel right in. If you are so inclined get on now

If we can manage to get over Geelong and Adelaide (fingers crossed), the next month or more looks very very good.

Gold Coast
Demons
Bye (well earned rest)
West Coast in Melbourne
Fremantle in Melbourne

which then leads in to our revenge match against Carltank.

Yep, great round for us, our 3 biggest challengers (Carlton, West Coast and Geelong) all lost.

Oh, and this bloke returned;

do not take this the wrong way ........ but

who have we beaten ?

yes i know you can only beat those put in front of you, and i am glad weve managed to knock off those teams we should beat, but i am yet to see things just click. at present i fear it is our rotating mids and key defenders who are getting us thru, rather than a team effort with contributions across the board. we have no true small forward (yet), our tall forwards are a shadow of their former selves, and the half back line is only now starting to come together. i fear playing that well oiled machine called geelong, on the big stage they love, might deliver us a wake up call. and likewise yes we might bring it all together and kick their arse, but i just dont think we are ready for this challenge yet.

personally im not too fussed* if we do lose friday night, as long as we see further improvement from the likes of toovey, maxwell & o'brien, and maybe see cloke resume his form of 2011. as for didak, i dont care if its his 2nd game back - i wanna see effort, i wanna see results. he cant get game after game like last year in the hope he regains form. find the ball or let ugle get experience for the rest of the year.

*there are bigger fish to fry.

Essendon...

Add the Dogs also, they are a serious football team if they can just find some forwards, like they seemed to on the weekend. Essendon will likely be a top 4 side because of a good start and a soft draw, but the Doggies may well finish in the eight, and to me that counts as a good win, especially on their home ground.

The way we beat Brisbane was also impressive, a 58 point win on their home ground, with 5 of our best 22 players absent and ready to return over the next few weeks, I reckon it was a top effort.

No shock that these are our last three wins, we are back baby.:)

Brisbane are terrible. We should have won by 100. Geelong is 3rd test for this year. We failed the Hawthorn and Carlton test, this game will determine where we at in 2012.

Agree.

Let's not jump ahead after beating Brisbane.

To be honest, our wins are against lowly sides Richmond, Port, WB and Brisbane, and only one of them did we actually smash.

Our run gets awfully hard as of now.

The Dogs neat North on the weekend and I was on the Cats board observing the other day and some of the poster,s seem to think the Dogs are not as bad as some were saying and they were a little bit concerned about the Dogs and their speed.

Geelong although still very good are no longer infallible and are traveling nothing like as good as last season I got a feeling about the Cats their pride may not allowed it happen against us but one day soon they are going to go all of a sudden just like the Lion,s did after their great era,the majority of Geelong,s star,s are all getting older and when it happens it will happen overnight.

We may not win the flag this year I hope we do but I think Geelong unless they turn their season around now have less chance than we do they are playing worse than we are and I will say it again they do not have the luxury of resting their older players this year and this will come to bear later in the year.

The Pies do have some hard games coming up but I feel the club actually turned it,s season around after the Carlton game we looked in dire trouble then but after Buckley,s presser the following week things were not as bad as it seemed it was a great presser and it convinced me we had chosen the right bloke to lead us and it has only gotten better since.

One thing we were all complaining about earlier was our lack of fitness in the early games we no longer are having that problem, against the Lions we started great and never gave them a sniff I think we lost focus when Brown got injured and it took a while to regain it but they did and they came out in the last qtr and ran away again.A ten goal win for our club in Brisbane against them is not to be sneezed at I tell you,if there is 1 match the Lions want to win it is against us just asked any Qld,s based supporter and they will say the same.

It was a great round of football and specially for us and more good news on the Brown injury, things are looking alright to this Pie supporter.
