He played a solid game and is pivotal to our side. Collingwood fans bronxing him should feel ashamed. How much do you want him to do? He had 19 disposals and 5 tackles. He is honestly the easiest target for some of our braindead supporters. Oh look a big guy who is not catching it and not kicking goals, he must be the problem with our team. He contests, blocks and works hard around the stoppages. He is improving as a second ruckman too.
I am truly sick and tired of all the morons thinking that he needs to kick goals to be helpful. We have won 8 in a row without him kicking goals, we dont need him to kick goals. We need him to compete as a chop out ruck, and provide a contest at half forward as well as a get out long kick option. He very rarely gets outmarked in the forward line too, not because he is great overhead, but because he plays in front and competes.

Surely everyone saw when he feared the contest and went for the punch instead of marking ..leading to a Melbourne goal. Can't have that.

Ahhh no.Surely everyone saw when he feared the contest and went for the punch instead of marking ..leading to a Melbourne goal. Can't have that.
Id really like to compare his numbers to Anvil's from last season playing the same role, i think theyd be quite similar, but without the BS from half the supporters
Ahhh no.
That was youngs fault who came from behind Dawes and had no awareness.
This was his best game for the yer but it still wasn't great. A step in the right direction one might say. And just quietly- thank god we have goldsack- he has become extremely important.
Compare his output to Leigh Brown.
2012 with Dawes as the second ruck is way better than Brown in 2011 as the second ruck, that is clear.
true that dave ill admit he is starting to get better in the ruckDawes does not give Free's Away in the Ruck like Leroy or Jolly can
You mean like Buckley and Eade who say he needs time to develop into the Leigh Brown role?his usual supporters will come in a stick up for him
Where would you rank Dawes for 'hardness' in our team? For me, somewhere in the bottom third. Not good for someone of his size playing Ruck/CHF.
The fact he appeared to have so much potential really highlights the huge disappointment he is.
