Ok been a bit relaxed about the final ladder this year given last years experience of everything falling to crap in the last few weeks but alas.....I couldnt help myself.

Unfortunately the news isnt great. If everything goes to plan looks like we jsut scrape into the top 4 and end up playing WCE in WA. I had us winning every game bar WCE, Hawks and Swans. So we beat Cats, Kangas, Saints, GWS etc. The good news is I havent got all the tips in any round this year so unlikely to finish that way anyway.

If we won over there we would get one of Geelong or Swans on the G in the Prelim. Prob Swans as they would be home against the Cats. We would then play either WCE or Hawks who would be slugging it out in WA.

If we lost we would get Adelaide at home and then Hawks in the Prelim. Most likely get the WCE again.

The order I had was;

1 WCE
2 Hawks
3 Swans
4 Collingwood
5 Adelaide
6 Essendon
7 Geelong
8 Richmond

9 North on % only so could sneak in

What I found interesting was that we cant really afford to drop more than 3 as Crows will be on the same points as they have a pretty good run home. If we could reduce to 2 games then v good chance we would get the Swans on the G which would be the ideal result.

Anyway a bit of fun. For those that want to have a play here is the link.

That's quite a pessimistic view you're taking there.

WC will probably start favourites over at Subi, but the Hawthorn game is a true 50/50 contest if ever there was one, and when was the last time we lost to Sydney? We have won the last 10 matches against them and our interstate record speaks for itself.

A lot could change between now and the end of the year but I honestly don't see us dropping more than 2 games before finals. Of more concern may be our %, we really need to make the game against GWS count and beat them by ~100 points.

I avoid the ladder predictor because I am worried I will jinx the season. I'm quite superstitious, it turns out. As far as I am concerned, we're two wins away from another finals series and that's as far as I will go.

The black cat on the fence is looking at me...

The way I see it, we are the best team in the comp right now. Our % might not be the best, but we haven't the luxury of GWS, GC or Melbourne twice, and wont. Hawthorn and West Coast are the only two games I feel uncomfortable about at this stage, but in all honesty, with a host of players to come back, I'm confident too!

So, all being well this is how I see things panning out....

My Ladder:

Pies
Eagles
Swans
Crows
Bombers
Hawks
Cats
Roos

Week one:
We will belt Adelaide, Eagles over Swans. Bombers to oust the Roos and Cats to knock over the Hawks.

Week two:
Swans to roll the Cats in Sydney, While the Bombers go down to Adelaide.

Week three:
Pies over Swans and Eagles over Crows

Week four:
Vindication will arrive. Pies to win it!

Wow, I got:

Collingwood
Adelaide
West Coast
Sydney
Essendon
Hawthorn
Geelong
Richmond

I have us losing to Hawthorn and West Coast (even though I don't ACTUALLY think we'll lose those games, I'm just trying to "keep it real").

Which means we go straight through to a prelim.

It turns out we play Adelaide in the Granny. So yea, we win!!

Beauty! My worries are all gone!;)

the only match you could pencil down as a loss without much argument is West Coast at Pattersons.

Sydney haven't looked that great of late, Hawks have gone through struggles and still have issues with their squad. So i am not really sure how you can pencil them in as certain losses

I think our only real concern is WC in the west.. We should win most of our other games.. a couple of upsets maybe but then you have to account for other teams and those upsets..

On form we should be on top.. I had Essendon in 4th. WC and Adel should be 2nd and 3rd.. That would be huge.. Coll Vs Ess, the week after we play them, for a qualifying final..

I've got us finishing on 18-4, and if I'm being totally honest, probably 17-5, which will guarantee us a top 3 spot, and maybe a top 2 spot. I marked down a loss to either the Cats or Hawks and losses to West Coast and then Essendon in the last round due to a probable 6 day break coming back from Perth.

Here was my top 8;

Hawks
Eagles
Pies
Crows
Swans
Bombers
Geelong
North

That would give us a first week Saturday Afternoon final in WA (the AFL will allow this so we can fly home that night) and even a loss wouldn't be disastrous, as it would mean we would probably meet the Hawks in a prelim, and I'd back us to win that.

2nd would be great, but 3rd isn't the end of the world, I've already started saving up for an interstate trip during the finals.:)

The thing is, just about every one of the top 7 sides play each other again on the run in, so the results of those games will decide the top 4, and where we are heading week one of the finals.

It turns out we play Adelaide in the Granny. So yea, we win!!
Hmmmm my Mum had a dream 2 weeks ago where we playing a side with red in it, maybe you're right. The last time she had a similar dream was 2010, where she predicted us to play the saints. Strangely then she said we were celebrating but the saints song was playing.

Hawks lost Guerra for three weeks so he'll miss against us. That's four without an early guilty plea. Unless they manage to get it turned over somehow.

I had Freo 9th with 12 wins! I don't know how you got Hawthorn 2nd. I just filled in the favourites each week so I am guessing you really rate Hawthorn to win games they are predicted to lose (ie: Swans in Sydney or somethnig)

yeah I just think they are coming. I reckon Roughy being fit has made a huge difference to them. The obvious weakness for them is that they lack pace and don't run out games as quickly as we would. If we were up at 3/4 time I would be pretty confident we'd beat them.

West Coast
Collingwood
Adelaide
Hawthorn
Sydney
Essendon

North

I had us dropping games against Hawthorn and WCE, which I seriously doubt we will. We'd win our qualifying final against Adelaide at the 'G, and then playing either Hawthorn or Sydney to get into the big one against the Eagles.

I think a few players will be rested in round 22 against WCE at Pattersons. I can see Wood playing ahead of Jolly and a couple of others being rested before we play the Bombers. Wins over the Cats and Hawks will really set up our run home.

When all you guys are doing your ladder predictors, are you assuming that WCE, Crows & Swans win every single one of their games as well?

If so..... I would think again.
