Changes Vs. Hawthorn

I understand your rationale gopower. My basic argument was that they're a much bigger injustices than Rodan coming in, such as D.Stewart and McCarthy not being shown the door.

The only conclusion I can come up with is Hocking is giving guys on the edge of their careers a chance to play for their careers. Any other attempt to rationalize that team makes no sense.

i feel physically ill as i read that

isn't this the excuse we made for plodder primus? playing for their careers

yawn. had enough chances. i'd actually drop them IF they performed well under those circumstances

that kind of player *cough westhoff* is EXACTLY the last person we want at the club

im a bit disappointed here

all the good will for KT is dropping

BUT, if ever you wanted a call on the coach vs the player, it is possible the assistants said to KT something like "keith, it was Primus. these players aren't THAT bad. let me/ us field the same team and watch a completely different team play out there"

far fetched, but possible

i also like the percentage thing

I'd love to know why people are so venomously against Rodan playing....not part of our next Top 4 assault? not playing well in the SANFL? None of our players are playing well, anywhere, at all. It doesnt matter who plays this week, or next week. Most of the blokes in our 22 are pathetic and probably wouldnt perform well in the SANFL week in week out anyway. No real point knocking Rodan ATM.

Rodan is perfect Sub
I do not understand why he is not our sub

Might deserve a thread on its own, but congrats to Nathan Blee. It was this time last year (against Hawthorn) that Butcher debuted too, wasn't it? He looks to be a promising player. Let's hope he remains in side for the rest of the year and has a huge pre-season next year.

Dont understand the playing young players as the sub fetish. It doesnt work, might as well play a specialist sub and actually try to win games

I would line them up at one end of the oval, and put 22 footballs at the other end and tell them anyone who comes back to me with a ball is in the side. ;)

Both approaches can work. We just haven't been able to utilise either.

Chad Wingard out (withdrawn from squad). Steven Salopek is into squad.
Really?!

Sucks for Chad, but I am really excited if that is true for Sal.

I think it would be because emergencies can come in at any stage if a player is injured.

If they leave Chad in, they leave themselves open slightly if a couple go down between now and Sunday.

Then why would they bother listing him/bringing him into the 22?

Surely they would just drop Chad from the final side?
i like your way of thinking... but i do believe that if someone pulls out from the squad they need to name another into the 25 so they can have their 3 emergencies

Because I'm sure the only thing we need to win against the premiership favourites away is David Rodan and his 10 minutes of good football a game

Hahahahahaha. We lose to Western Sydney and the only guy who gets dropped is the sub who was on the field for 10 minutes.
