And 6 home games at Etihad and 5 at MCG is terrible. I remember Sticks saying we wanted a 7 MCG/4 Etihad split at worst. Pffft!

Was playing the Pies at 3:15 on Sunday always the case? Would of thought that would of been a Friday night game.

Not thrilled with having to travel to AAMI final round but the draw is still fine.

Batch 1 Rounds 1-5 RED
We should at least walk away with 2-3 from this batch. If we manage to scrape 3-2 then awesome (2-3)
Batch 2 Rounds 6-10 BLUE
We should be aiming for 4-1 from this batch, GWS, Melbourne and Port at home are games we cannot afford to lose, should be Brisbane at the Gabba, St Kilda the tough one (4-1)
Batch 3 Rounds 11-16 GREEN
Probably our toughest stretch have to beat Essendon, will need to beat the Saints and we'll see about Collingwood. Hopefully 2-3, but could scrape 3-2 if we play well. (2-3)
Batch 4 Rounds 17-23 PINK
Gold Coast (:/) Freo at home, Bulldogs and RIchmond are all must wins. Essendon, North and Port away are all dubious we shoudl pick up at least 2 of these 3, should be a strong finish to the season. Minimum of 4-3 more likely 5-2 or even 6-1 (6-1)

Im tipping 14-8 for the season but depending on form we could be one or two higher or one or two lower

Should be enough to make finals steal a couple of wins and we'll make top 4.

Unfortunately we are contracted to play 6 home games at Etihad.

I can't wait until the contract expires at the end of the 2014 season.

It would be ideal if we can manage to get 8 MCG home games and 3 Etihad home games when renegotiations start.

Personally I would love all our home games at the MCG but that won't happen.

Do not like it one little bit. Hating the late Sunday afternoon time slots. Go to the footy, go home, prepare for work the next day. Weekend over. Ugh. It feels like half of your weekend is "stolen" going to a football game not that I wont go, of course.
I am going to love it actually... I will hopefully be getting to see games on a Sunday over here on ESPN instead of having to resort to other methods of viewing...

although with my apple tv box, I can sit in bed watching it from my ipad using airplay using the alternate methods... w00t

I would personally love for us to add another 20k capacity to Princes Park and have us playing our home games against the smaller interstate franchises and have us playing the rest of our home games at the G.

But you know that Fat Vlad is more likely to try and redevelop Arden St than Princes Park.

Did anyone see the start Sydney has? Sheesh. ..the AFL need to keep their Sydney love affair a little more under wraps... an extra million and the easiest start to the season.. what a farce. .

Are we the only team who will have not played GCS and/or GWS twice in a season after next year?
Happy never to play our bogey team ever again.

Not sure of where else to put this but had to lay this down somewhere..

The AFL is now claiming the fixture is fairer in 2013.
http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/fixture-fairer-in-2013-afl-20121031-28ijq.html

Are they opening a can of worms for themselves by saying they are trying to make the fixture as fair as possible?
Since the inception of the 18th club, it now means we can have as fair as possible 22-game fixture (seeing as the AFL will never adopt a 17-game fixture)

Section 1
Sydney
Hawthorn
Adelaide
Collingwood
West Coast
Fremantle

Section 2
Geelong
North Melbourne
St. Kilda
Carlton
Essendon
Richmond

Section 3
Brisbane
Port Adelaide
Western Bulldogs
Melbourne
Gold Coast
GWS

Obviously 17 games are made up of playing everyone once, the 5 sides you will play twice will be made up from the section you qualified in from the previous years' final ladder position.

The fixture would operate so that you will not play two home or away games in a row against any opposition so for example if Carlton played Port Adelaide once at home in 2013, and were only scheduled to meet once in 2014 it would be Port Adelaide's home game in 2014.

I think this would be the perfect opportunity to bring in a draft lottery for Section 2 & 3. The lower you finish in the section the more chance you have of picking up the highest draft choice, but it is no longer garunteed. This will aim to prevent sides tanking for bottom place. Section 1 do not require a lottery as they are vying for a premiership berth. The priority pick would also be abolished.

I know the AFL will never run with an idea that could stop two Carlton/Collingwood, Collingwood/Essendon, Essendon/Carlton, Hawthorn/Geelong clashes a year as well as the derbies. I do think they are opening themselves up for trouble by talking about making the fixture fair.

if that happens, Collingwood would be shitting themselves...

Happy never to play our bogey team ever again.

Not sure that you can call them a bogey side. We lost one game to them that in the end did not mean anything anyway. The other time we played them we gave them a football lesson. Got to wait until we lose multiple games against a team before we can stick labels on them.

Are we seriously playing Collingwood at 3:15 on a Sunday?

if we don't win that match, it's a long drive home for me... Someone else can drive, I'll get hammered and forget the whole thing, hopefully

I tried that after the loss to GC.

It didn't work. I remembered :(
