Re Jesse Wells

Seems like he's stacked on the lazy 16kg's since his time at Western Bulldogs.

Imagine him and the big "mummy" turning up at your barbie!!!!!!!!!

A 26 yo bloke getting drunk whilst on holidays - jeez whats the world coming to

Someguy on KM's thread said we've shown 'interest' in Jesse Wells.

Interest means an interview, and clubs usually interview alot of players they dont end up drafting. So if anything it's just another name to discuss.

26yo, 196cm/101kg, KPD/KPF, runs 100m in 11 seconds.

Well done. Lot to like about him. Not just the speed, but in the highlights his desire to keep chasing and put pressure on the other team is fantastic. Irrespective of whether we take him or not, there are lots of big forwards and backs who should be shown his highlights reel, to see the real desire to chase and put on pressure.

Looked like he was playing against children!
Definitely worth a late pick.

i'm usually the skeptic, so i'll have a shot at going against the grain so far.

he does look like he's playing against children. we have to remember he's playing in tasmania in a league that s a couple rungs below the VFL/WAFL. he really doesnt have any opposition!!!

did he play in a state game this year? if so how did he go?

he looks more like a fwd than a defender which could be wilkes v2.0

rookie list at most IMO could get to VFL level and find he doesnt have the tank required

In the article he's described as a backman, and he describes himself as one.

Bit of an attempt to connect the dots with the 'whispers' floating around from the draft journos (Anderson, Quayle etc) just to give us an idea who we're actually a chance of getting. So basically it's a range of the absolute earliest they'll go (based on interest) and what's looking like the very latest (interest and a tiny little needs based too)

Whitfield - 1 (GWS)
Toumpas - 2 (GWS) <> 6 (WBD)
O'Rourke - 2 (GWS) <> 6 (WBD)
Grundy - 3 (GWS) <> 9 (RICH)
Plowman - 3 (GWS) <> 12 (GWS)
Menzel - 3 (GWS) <> 12 (GWS)
Wines - 4 (MELB)
Stringer - 5 (WBD) <> 16 (GEEL)
Mayes - 7 (PA) <> 12 (GWS)
Macrae - 7 (PA) <> 15 (NM)
Jaksch - 8 (BRIS) <> 20 (COLL)
Garlett - 8 (BRIS) <> 26 (STK)
Vlaustin - 9 (RICH) <> 20 (COLL)
Garner - 9 (RICH) <> 20 (COLL)
Membrey - 11 (CARL) <> 31 (PA)
Clurey - 12 (GWS) <> 22 (WBD)
Corr - 12 (GWS) <> 29 (HAW)
Hrovat - 13 (GC) <> 26 (STK)
Simpson - 13 (GC) <> 28 (GWS)
Kennedy - 13 (GC) <> 30 (PA)
Lonergan - 13 (GC) <> 32 (RICH)
Shaw - 17 (FREM) <> 33 (BRIS)
O'Brien - 18 (COLL) <> 30 (PA)
Smith - 21 (COLL) <> 29 (HAW)

It's a work in progress and very rough sketch at the latter end, but ill refine it when more light is shed.

It is a tragedy that this post will inevitably not get the love it deserves.
That is true - my kids say the same thing :)

When I hear the name Jack Frost - I think of the biggest dud we ever drafted. we passed up on a 17 year old from the Murray Bushrangers called Fraser Gehrig and instead drafted a Bulldogs reject called Michael "Jack" Frost. 10 years later we redrafted Gehrig and it cost us a first round pick.

If we do draft him - I hope he is better than the last one.

Geez, had forgotten about that, real shocker .

geez - an amazing transformation! that said - he would drop up to 10 kg at an afl club and be at the perfect weight.
I have no doubt that he is quick but I have run under 11 seconds and I have never come across a bloke his size that can run 11 seconds for the 100. He might have done it at school but Usain bolt is about the only bloke of the same height so perhaps Jesse Wells' time is an urban myth.
Does anyone know why and when he was delisted and what he has been doing up until now?
I like the idea of a smoky filling the void. Gives us a chance to draft a young gun with our earlier picks

Spoken to few people and they said we would be wasting our time and he wouldn't fix any needs at all.

Sorry if this has been discussed but I saw the HS video of Tom Clurey today. What a GUN!!!!! Draft the kid now - tamper with the draft - get all Tippett about it - just do something to get this kid!!!

Will he survive to 24 though (soon to be 22 thanks to Adelaide)?

In a word, no. If GWS take Corr with 12 or 14, as they are reportedly a good chance of doing, that will help, but Geelong, Freo, WB, Brisbane and Sydney could all pounce on him, as they could all do with someone like him coming through for FB/CHB. Stranger things have happened though.

What do you reckon?

Reportedly we have shown interest in Nathan Batsanis .

I'm sure we have shown interest in about 50-60 players!!
