NOTHING heelish there, except maybe the "couldn't carry my jockstrap" line, and the mini burial of the WHC

Not so much heelish quotes, but went against the grain of his very cyclical storylines. There wasn't any goofy smiles or references to the fans that still support him or fart jokes. Was a simple straight succinct promo.

Was actually good to watch and should be more of it.

He can obviously be a successful face, but think he has so much potential as a heel.

Ziggler looks very much down the Jericho path that they'll have no choice to turn him face and Ryback can carry some of the babyface/merch load.

WrestleMania for the juniors will be good, but will be killed by the fact the results of 3 matches are already close to certain :

Cena defeating Rock
Taker defeating whoever he faces
Trips defeating Lesnar

Think it's set up for Jericho vs Ziggler, so heres' hoping Jericho competes in the SmackDown chamber and it's for the title at Mania, then of course stealing the show. (but no girlfriends :p )

From what I read today, this is what's happening

Taker wants to work with Punk
Punk wants to work with Taker

Taker wants to end the streak here
Vince wants the streak to continue

Taker doesn't like that which is why he didn't sign a contract (and in turn missed the Rumble)

As Taker doesn't need to win, right now, I'd say it's 50/50 between Punk Def Taker and Taker off.

I just gained more respecy for Takervif that's possible. For me the streak needs to end as it makes his retirement more believable for his gimmick.

After watching main event it looks as if Tensai is turning face, hopefully this means he goes back to Albert or A-Train. Looking more likely that my call earlier in the thread about a Brodus and Tensai tag team will happen. Both giants who can work the ring. With Rhodes and Sandow set to disband, Kidd being out injured and Team Hell No nearing the end it sets up a good tag feud with Tensai and Brodus against PTP.

According to bleacher report taker is doubtful for mania.

From what I've read, the Undertaker has wanted to end the streak for the past couple of years with Cena being the one that does it. Mind you I think this was said years ago when Cena wasn't as big as he is now.

Punk in my opinion should be the only one to break it.

Would it be possible that the Undertaker wants the streak to end, just so he doesn't have to come back every year just to extend it?

Punk ending the streak would be silly. Nobody should end the streak now. What is at now 20-0. Just Let the man retire in peace.

The cynical side of me believes that the WWE feeds these "Undertaker wants the streak to end" stories to the dirtsheet websites just so us neckbeards buy WM thinking that there is a small chance that this could be the streak's end.

Read most wrestling books, and you hear a lot about how Taker always goes over clean for the upcoming talents

It wouldn't surprise me to see it end (not that Punk is up and coming, he's already there)

Agree with what you are saying, the only up and comer is Ziggler. But Ziggler wont be ending the streak.
Its taken 20 years to have this streak so hopefully it stays like that.

According to PWInsider.com, The Undertaker's status for WrestleMania 29 remains uncertain in WWE.
As of several months ago, The Undertaker told WWE officials that he would be good to go for WrestleMania, and reportedly named CM Punk as the wrestler he wanted to face at the big event, however, it appears as if his badly damaged hip and shoulder, which were worsened at WrestleMania last year, might prevent him from competing this year.
Should The Undertaker be unable to wrestle at WrestleMania this year, WWE will have to make major changes to the currently planned card, as CM Punk would be left without an opponent.

Interesting, I guess if the Undertaker isn't at WM then the card won't be as predictable. Surely there would have to be a triple thread match for the WWE title, what else are they going to do with Punk?

Punk vs Lesnar.

Punk mad at Heyman for costing title. Punk and Heyman go at it verbally, get in an altercation and it becomes Punk vs Lesnar?

That could work

If it were to work, would it be a top of the card sort of thing or would Creative write it as Lesnar squashing CM Punk?

Also, whatever happened to quality Wrestlemania music?

This is actually what I would've liked.

If Punk isn't facing Taker, I would prefer Punk v Lesnar over another rematch with Triple H.

Have CM Punk say that he was completely unaware of Heyman's dealings with the Shield, and have them break apart due to Punk being frustrated that Heyman put his title in reign in jeopardy (ultimately costing him his match with The Rock) and the fact that Heyman didn't have faith in him to get it done on his own.

You then have the two "Heyman guys" face off at Wrestle Mania. That would be a little more interesting than another storyline revolving around Triple H, Brock and Heyman.

Thing is, a match with the undertaker for youngish main eventers like barrett, sheamus, sandow, bryan, ryback, rhodes etc at wrestlemania is big enough, they don't even have to win for the undertaker to put them over. They still get a massive push just by hopping into a mania ring with him.

I don't want the streak to end, I just want taker to start storylines with younger blokes that aren't as over so he can get them over, rather than the already established stars like hhh, michaels and punk

I wouldn't put Triple H, Michaels, and Punk alongside each other.

When they wrestled Taker at Mania recently, Triple H and Michaels were veterans on their way out. There was nothing to gain at all for them beating Taker, so of course they didn't.

However, Punk still has a long career ahead of him. Sure, he's over and I don't think he needs the push that ending the streak would grant him, but he's certainly more deserving of doing it than a near-retired veteran, like HBK or Triple H.

Agree that it should probably be younger, less established stars getting the rub for Taker, though. If they were going to do CM Punk v Taker at Mania, it would've been more beneficial a few years ago when Punk wasn't as big. However, the WWE wish to give the matches at WM against The Undertaker a big match feel these days, so they probably believe CM Punk would be the best to do that, rather than someone younger, who isn't as well known.

Thinking about it More Lesnar v Punk could work great on the card. Also added a few different matches.
