I think I enjoyed Douglas acting like a tough guy 10 minutes into the last then after the ball up the ball comes to him and he gets smashed and we run off with it lol

Adelaide would be excellent under Ross Lyon. Bunch of Vanillas playing lock down footy.

I don't know what it is about Adelaide and their drafting, but they seem to have drafted robotic figjams incapable of expressing themselves by playing footy. They just don't play with any personality of flair, and that's been my bugbear with them since mainly Niel Craigs era.

They have some excellent players who do express themselves in Sloane, Danger and Walker but the rest are average to awful. The bottom 10 or so of their starting 22 is a fair way below par. If they trade right, they can fill some of those spots and become a pretty damaging side who can take on the best of them.

Until then, they're average. Not bad, average.

Totally agree:thumbsu: when van berlo was subbed off for vince i thought to myself "thats one aryan untermensch for another."

Also, call me mad, but i must be the only one in adelaide that doesnt rate dangerfield that highly, and thinks that sloane is far better. Whenever i see dangerfield, i just think of a better version of rodan, explosive pace, has skills but is a turnover merchant and tends to slide in and out of games. Dont get me wrong, he is a good player but not enough to justify the amount of hype

Also, he looks like kirsten dunst

Dangerfields field kicking is some of the worst I've seen, dare I say Chaplinesque. Shanks his kicks trying to run too fast.

Not surprising really.

After 3 rounds we still haven't beaten anyone of note yet
That line being peddled doesn't bother me. The quality of our opposition is up for debate, and some people are welcome to state that until we've played a top 8 side, we only know for certain that the improvement exists against bottom 8 sides.

What shits me is the nobhead doing the team of the week picking half the Hawks side and only choosing Boak. I'd put money on it that he didn't even bother watching Showdown and just picked the medallist. If Port beat the Pies by 9 goals, I guarantee we still wouldn't have half the team of the week.

The lack of Vic media acknowledgement of Kornes' form this year is criminal. On the other hand, they are LOVING the Hoff over here. And Kenny / Richo / Burgess / Kochie. Their enthusiasm for Port is fairly non-specific about players (outside of Hoff, have only heard a mention or 2 of Wines and Wingard), presumably because they don't monitor our team too closely. That will hopefully change once we're really on the march.

Can't stand the bloke, but Dangerfield is a jet. Much better than Sloane. His fatigue often affects his kicking and at least a third of his kicks are "bomb it long and hope for the best", but only the upper echelon of talent can pull out a 55m goal on the non-preferred... hell, if we didn't have anyone in the square, he might have picked up goal of the year on Sunday night.

I agree. Dangerfield was still aiming to win right up until the final siren on Sunday. That last goal of his was pretty good considering the circumstances.

I think that as good as Walker and Dangerfield are (and they are both very good) that they may almost be a weakness for the Crows atm. The media are spurting 'stop Dangerfield, stop the Crows' and I think this is pretty spot on. Both the players have that x-factor where they can break a game open, and while they have other quality players around them (e.g. Thompson, Sloane, Jacobs) I don't think any of them can really change a game.

This was our problem for a while too. For a few years it was pretty much tag 2 of Boak, Pearce, or Rodan and the Power lose. Now we have Boak, Hartlett, Westhoff, Wingard that genuinely need to be watched closely by the opposition, with Monfries and Pittard starting to show that they can step into that role if the aforementioned players are tagged out. I know its still early stages, but hopefully these guys can hold it up all year (and for a few years to come!)

I don't understand why they play music during the "Rush Hour" sports show on MMM. Do they have some sort of obligation to do it? They're in the middle of talking to Ken Hinkley on the phone and right in the middle of the interview they play a ****ing song.

All jokes about Sanderson's terrible season launch speech aside, watching it you very much get the feeling he simply expected last seasons form just roll into 2013. All that omen stuff was just laughable, but then to say "we're going to win a lot of games this year, and we'll lose a couple of games too", was just jaw dropping stuff. And they've been completely dismissing Tippett's value all pre-season as well.

I saw an article soon after Tippett walked out on them in which Our Sando said they'd be better without him. There are three possible conclusions you can draw from that:

A) Sanderson never believed that the Crows would be better without Tippett, in which case he's happy to bald-faced lie to his supporters for the purposes of propaganda.
B) Sanderson always believed that the Crows would be better without Tippett, in which case he's a total soft **** for not dropping him for the preliminary final on the back of two sub-10 possession and 0 goal games in the previous two finals.
C) Sanderson didn't believe that the Crows would be better without Tippett when he was there but mentally gymnasticked his way into believing it after he left, in which case he should be on my Bay 13 ignore list rather than being the senior coach of a football club.

Their players are every bit the big headed, arrogant tools they come across as. They strut around like pop stars and their coach seems to relish the limelight just as much. Had a very interesting chat with one of our players back at the club and he was scathing of them in this regard, all except for Rory Sloane who said was "a really lovely guy".

Rory was clearly their best on Sunday. He's more than welcome at the Power if he ever gets tired of his FIGJAM teammates IMO.

I really don't like Sloane. I think he's become overrated.

Not his fault.

Total FIGJAM but he sure can play.

I posted something similar to this at the time. Anyone looking objectively at what he said would see that what he said meant he was either a bare faced liar or not fit to be an AFL coach. Of course Cow supporters in their red rage of hatred towards Tippex agreed with our Sando, but then if Cow supporters are so convinced that they have a better team without Tippex why are they so angry he left? Surely he did their club a favour.

He is overrated and it's not his fault. You know how you just don't like someone for no reason. He's the guy.
Its the hair.

I have this with Josh Jenkins but I think that's because I spent all of last season hearing from a workmate about what an amazing find he and it was Jenkins this Jenkins that. Kill me with a shovel.

Agree with this. Dangerfield is a FIGJAM, but he's like Selwood - in a team that wasn't full of prima donnas he would be more humble because he'd know that his teammates make him look good. At the Crows, he makes the rest of them look good - which is where the arrogance comes from.

Sloane is just a victim of being at a club full of douchebags. I loved the way he called out his entire team for not running back hard enough in defense the way that Port Adelaide did. Said they weren't hungry enough. As I said in another thread, the Crows remind me of that fat kid at the end of Fatboy Slim's Right Here, Right Now - puffing and wheezing as he sits down on a park bench with a t-shirt that reads "I'm Number 1, so why try harder?" Completely delusional.

Heard an unsubstantiated rumour this morning that he and Nicole have split .........
Being doing a bit of checking with a few of the gossips and apparently Nicole has left Wrinkles for an older man.

What? Someone with more wrinkles?
