Damian "make crap up" BarrettEvery time I hear them call Damian Barrett the best in the business I can't help but laugh. Anyone counted how many times he's been wrong - would be in the hundreds surely.
Well that's Buddy gone then.
Get Wrighty a big shopping trolley, start with Whitfield and Treloar, throw in Buntine and a 1st rounder and we should be pretty close to the mark![]()
around 1.5 mill a season. not worth it, he isn't a g ablett but good luck to them if they are willing to pay
it is worth it if you have been given an extra million in the salary cap + a cola allowance....why have the Victorian clubs endorsed and voted for this??? why is it that our club has 62k members and is one the most asset richest clubs in the league, is restricted from spending the money it has....if you impose a salary cap it should be an even playing field, if it isnt than challenge it in a court of law and dismantle it
So unless someone is leaking details to the media, where exactly do they get this info?
I maybe very naïve, but I can't believe ANY club is going to leak figures or info about what they can or can't offer. What Barrett detailed was very specific wasn't it? I just loved Roughy's reaction, he just shook his head as if to say, that is bullsh1t..
Interesting if true. There's a clear choice here: stay at a footy club where you'll have a chance to achieve greatness and take a side to great things too. Or take the money and ply your trade like a big fish in a small pond. Gather stats, look sparkling etc Which is all fine in theory, but, like one G Ablett, will you look back in some years time and wonder what you might have achieved if you stayed? Because the choice isn't just about money here: it's also about achieving all you can as a player. And that won't happen at the 'display home club'.
Gazza could have had another premiership and possibly another Brownlow if he'd stayed at the Cats. Money can't but those things. Being loved by the Suns bandwagoners wouldn't compare to the passion of Victorian fans. I don't understand chasing a slightly bigger pot of money for little chance of success. I might be odd - but it just doesn't seem worth it.

Whatever happened to the rule about not being able to make offers to players until they are out oif contract?
