Fair enough. I mustn't look hard enough.

Back on topic: Saturation point has been reached in my mind - I am applying a wholesale ban on websites/publications until this is over. The Essendon bigfooty board is all I am going with, you guys can be my eyes and ears.

Are you then also assuming that Dank only bought peptides for Essendon and only used them on Essendon players? Dank seemed to be successful in his industry, I don't think we can assume everything he bought was for Essendon players..

Not at all, but if he was using one of the other variants why do the recommended dosages match?

http://www.crimecommission.gov.au/s...ganised-crime-and-drugs-in-sports-feb2013.pdf

In recent years, the ACC has identified that criminal groups and entrepreneurial
individuals are increasingly exploiting new and emerging unregulated drug markets.
Entrepreneurial individuals and criminal groups are exploiting these markets by
capitalising on the timeframe between when a substance is identified by regulatory
authorities as being harmful, and the subsequent regulation of that substance, which
in some cases is considerable. This is most clearly demonstrated in the drug analogue
market, where manufacturers and vendors continue to release psychoactive substances that are not yet regulated. These same vulnerabilities are being exploited in relation to peptides and hormones, which in some cases are not yet approved for human use yet are widely available. Strategies utilised by individuals identified by the ACC as being involved in the distribution of peptides and hormones include:

the establishment of a ‘research‘ body to obtain peptides and hormones from a compounding pharmacy

• the use of anti-ageing clinics to distribute these substances

• the recruitment of complicit doctors to write prescriptions for controlled pharmaceuticals, such as hGH

the role of a sports scientist who benefited financially from the sale of peptides
and hormones; advocated their use and directed their application at a number of sporting clubs, even though he was not medically qualified.
This section of the ACC report (pg32) makes for interesting reading given what Fairfax revealed on Saturday. The rogue theory seems highly likely IMO.

No. In my opinion he was basically asking if people are even willing to give us the presumption of innocence any more in the media. He then put that question to the listeners and the answer was a resounding no. I am currently accepting the fact that most people have decided we are guilty of using peds and virtually nothing is going to change their minds.

Who cares the only opinions that matter are ASADA and ours, everyone else can hate as much as they want. I enjoy it, it means we are on the right track to top4 and beyond. What team wants opposition supporters going "I feel sorry for you, your team is shit"? I don't I want other supporters saying "I hate your team" because that means your winning!!

Unfortunately it's not quite that simple.

The opinion that matters the most is likely the AFL's - it is the AFL (tribunal) that would hear any doping case, and the AFL that has the power to hand down extra sanctions outside of the anti-doping code (i.e. for bringing the game into disrepute).

Unfortunately the AFL is so beholden to money, PR and 'face' that if it senses public opinion going in a certain direction, that may influence the AFL's opinion.

Melbourne didn't take draft picks or points away for tanking.
Now Rumours wants to take our points and draft away for simply governance issue and with no perfromance substance taken.

No!

It certainly seems that Dank is the only one that knows what when on with this Thymosin. The questions are:

1. What did he do with the Beta 4 that he bought from Charters? If he can't show that he used it elsewhere, then it is a reasonable assumption to suggest he used it at EFC. (leaves us in hot water)
2. Would drug testing last year have picked up any Beta 4? You'd assume this sort of thing is detectable.
3. Are there any purchase receipts at EFC for any of the safe variety of Thymosin?
4. Is Charters even a reliable source in all this? What is his agenda?
5. What are the criminal elements the ACC have been investigating from the start?
6. Why would the club seem confident if Beta 4 is likely involved? You can see why they'd be confident if AOD was the only thing, but if it's beta 4, we're screwed.

From what I understand, ASADA can form assumptions, so the onus would be on us to answer questions 1 or 3 to their satisfaction.

Obviously there are more unknowns and questions, these are just the ones I am mulling over.

My optimism has drastically changed , heard some bad news from a good source today that no players will get suspended but we will most certainly get points stripped. Not sure how much. I guess it would be alot so we dont play finals. Would be silly if they strip us of points and we manage to finish 8th. Sad newst tbh :( hopefully my source is wrong

Your source is wrong.

SHUT UP.

Just about every day you come up with a bogus source and outcome.

You have had your fun, now do us all a favour and **** off.

This attempt at a bait and switch is just too obvious for you to be anything other than a Norf alias.

I'd admire anyone who is trying to get into the detail (you are delving deeper than most journos) however I just can't be figged. I'd rather just skate on the top of the argument, and I oscillate between thinking we are going to be ok, and not.

I suspect in the end a three way negotiation is going on between Ess, ASADA and the AFL about finding a penalty that saves face for everyone. I'm basing this on the potential that ASADA misinformed Ess on AOD, and that we have some scope for Legal Action. ASADA need to save face, the AFL need to be seen to penalise us, and we need to cop a penalty that we can accept.

I'm sure the AFL was flying a kite with mentioning on Monday that points could be taken off, so I guess it could very well happen.

*Sigh*...

Would your good source happen to be the age newspaper?

I doubt it, I believe the game is in good shape, with just about every club breaking membership records each year. If the AFL made it's decisions on public opinion and that alone the game would be a mess..

My guess is you're a Carlton fan.

If you are planning a big reveal at the end of this ASADA thing, at least have the decency to alert us to what team you actually follow, so that we can open a book or something.
