There is an ointment for that now.

Becareful it could contain AOD.

If it improves recovery time and produces euphoria the drug company is sitting on a gold mine!

Don't forget "rhetoric" and "half truths"

Essendon Scandal update, James Hird sleeps naked under oyxgen tent which he beleives gives him sexual powers.

Hey, thats a Half Truth!

As an Adelaide supporter if the penalties handed down to the club for what could arguably be seen as "a minor breach of salary cap rules" has any bearing on future penalties for "serious and systematic rule breaches" then suspensions and draft pick loss only would be a MASSIVE slap in the face to the Crows (and Melbourne for that matter)
IF even a smidgeon of the allegations against EFC are true (not saying they are) then loss of premiership points for 2013 HAS to be the minimum penalty. I might twist my own head off otherwise

So hang on. Essendon supporters are telling us that it isn't performance enhancing, yet the firm who own the product told essendon last year that if it was legal, body builders would be using a lot more of the stuff.
Is this the same firm who are now saying that the drug is not very effective (or is that some other company??).
Makes u wonder if they are in bed with essendon and trying to protect them and themselves.
Essendon are gone.

The same firm who applied for a patent in 2012 covering its anabolic functions?

I love it how Essendon supporters (and the club) have shifted from saying they would be found completely innocent to statements like this.

Does "largely get off" still mean you are found guilty of cheating? Would only 5 players getting suspended constitute "largely getting off" What about the integrity of the game and the damage you have done?

It seems the issues has got lost in the last desperate throws of denial

Find me any post of mine where I said Essendon was innocent.

Christ, even if I was in denial would be better than being a bleating sheep.

Baaaaaaaa...........

If they are not innocent then why are you and others defending them with such passion? I'm fairly sure you're a fan of Australian rules footy, I'm sure you can see the damage this is doing to the game.

Again if he's not innocent why are Essendon and its supporters all about defending Hird et al and not running him out of town themselves? It is like someone in a cult, you just want to smack some sense into them before they drink the cool-aid

Nah, I'd prefer us to finish 8th and have Richmond finish 9th and play finals. Just for the irony.

I actually like the idea that Richmond finish in the 8 in the year that 9th actually makes the finals.

This is VERY different to your cocky, holier than thou "hope we destroy the AFL" attitude yesterday... why the change in demeanour?

Denial :thumbsu:
Anger :thumbsu:
Bargaining :thumbsu:
Depression
Acceptance

James Hird will not be coaching the Bombers this time next week.

If James hird had taken responsibility for the fasico like he siad he would in February you would be right, but since he hasn't., i cannot now believe that he would voluntarily stand down.

It really makes me wonder how Whateley got it so wrong?

I can only think of a scenario like the following:

Someone close to Hird (and known by Whateley to be close to Hird) came up to him and said he had a real scoop that he wanted GW to know about. And GW, for some reason channelling Jimmy Olsen, thought "Gee Whiz. Mr White is sure to give me that promotion now", ran with it.

Everything, and I do mean everything, that has transpired since then has been contrary to GW's assertions on that night. Will he ever gain back his credibility?

Yeah, I agree. James Hird is going out of this when his coaching licence gets suspended.

I feel sorry for two groups of people in this scandal...the players and the supporters (even you). Both groups have been treated in a shameful manner by your club.

I couldn't agree with you more.... Extremely dissappointed in the club regardless of what plays out.

I defend the idea that everyone is free to the presumption of innocence, and also has the right to not be slandered in the media.

It's you geniuses that want to pre-empt a result before we even know the facts.

Kool-Aid? Yeah, we can see exactly whose drinking from that cup, and it certainly isn't those who are actually waiting for a result to be handed down before trying to lynch people. Such a bright bunch.

I agree on the presumption of innocence however in this case whilst we the public might not know what happend the good folks at EFC sure do.
They know exactly what went on, as such they should have acted by now. By your own posts even "largely getting off" should mean Hird goes? right?
The only rationale I can see is so they have someone left who is high profile to sacrifice once the report comes out

Legally, no.
The presumption of innocence relates only to criminal proceedings.
If anyone involved believes that false information has been published about them or their organisation, they can sue(which we've been told is going to happen for months- still waiting).

I agree with you. It is gobsmacking how far out on a limb Whately went. He was absolute and unyielding in his belief. Except for when he clarified it the next morning that his confidence no player would be sanctioned only related to AOD9604. Though as you say, there's been nothing to come out since his OMG moment that backs him up in any way.

But you just know once the unfavourable findings come out Essendon will take issue with them. They're already muscling up the PR/Legal faction to deal with the fallout.
